oil looks clean. porcelin on plugs are tan but the tang does have soot and the threads do have oil.

It is a Series 32 Mallory knock-off with Summits labeling. I got it on sale with a 20% off discount in March. Go to Mallory's web site for more info. To change the total advance or springs you have to pull the reluctor with a battery post terminal puller to get at the distributor's guts.

Take a look at this www.duncan-motor-sports.com I like it. It kind of acts like a slap stick. You just replace the shifter plate in the stock console shifter.

Thank you everyone. The covers were still hitting the intake. I took more material off twice before final bolt down. Dremel is a great tool. I took Redfastback's suggestion and used Fel Pro extra thick gaskets. I like how they felt as they bolted down. Two test drives and no leaks. Cool.

I did have to grind both covers in spots because they hit the runners on my Edelbrock LD340 intake but there is plenty of clearence now, I think. The cover directions call for 95 inches of torque, is that pretty tight with a 3/8 drive? All I have is a pounds torque wrench. Maybe over tightening...
