    Stroker cam suggestion

This is the solid roller I had spec'd out for my 496. Ported RPM's, 9:1 compression, ported M1 intake and 6lbs of boost on pump. It's obviously fairly wide ground on 114, but we put it in at about 110... It runs pretty good.

    main cap walk

There's also no need for a girdle. Especially the thin pieces of metal that just basically sit there, like most of these speed shops sell. You can't convince me they do anything to actually improve the structural integrity of the block. Snake oil for people to spend their money on... All the...

    440?

I have a stroked raised deck (Procharged 496") in my '67 Dart. With the factory k-member I thought it was a pain to access certain areas during maintenance or fixes, but it wasn't terrible. I have since switched out to an Alterktion, manual rack and manual Wilwood brakes, and I feel like it was...

Opinions on Blueprint Crate R/B 493/440

Yeah, that's not that much camshaft for almost 500".

    505" stroker

Procharged 496" raised deck.... ARP main & head studs. Low boost, pump gas at high altitude. 650-700hp... No girdle.

    Which K member?

I would highly recommend an Alterktion lol. Just kidding! ;)

440 stroker kits advice and more....

Yep. I don't care if you buy a kit or everything separate, ALWAYS double check EVERYTHING. I don't recommend buying anything and trusting the manufacturer that it's good to go, ootb. Spend a little extra time and money if needed, and do it once. ;)

440 stroker kits advice and more....

K1 crank, Scat H-beams and Diamond custom blower pistons... All really nice pieces.

If you can, post a couple pictures of the heads. We can probably help you figure out what you have/need, at that point. No need to be a jerk to the guy.

    Timing set opinions anyone....

I don't care what anyone says about Cloyes, I still use their double roller timing sets, and they have never given me an issue.

    Mopar 4.5" Crank

I'm sure going down to 2.2" would be fine. I'd have them nitride it again though.

Billet rear main cap... Double O-ring? Preference?

I used the Mancini piece on my 496. It's leaking pretty bad, going back to the factory unit. There is a thread on Moparts about the Mancini version, read it. I wish I would have...

657 HP with a 509 cam? Not by me!

Probably not as much as people think... Time slips are all about the optimization of the complete package. Horsepower doesn't mean jack, if the rest of the car isn't optimized to go along with it. As Moper said, dyno numbers can read whatever the operator wants them to read. Living at 5800'...

657 HP with a 509 cam? Not by me!

I get what Roccodart440 is saying. There are cars that can make all kinds of rwhp, but either can't put it down because of tuning issues, or bad driving. And also, there are people who are either full of poo, or actually believe they are making a certain amount of power... I personally don't...

657 HP with a 509 cam? Not by me!

Pretty simple. Everyone knows what OOTB RPM heads flow like. I've seen them vary from bench to bench. None the less, that's just not enough cylinder head OR camshaft to support 650+ horsepower. I'm not calling anyone a liar, I just personally don't buy it...

    67 440 Dart

I have an old set of Pro Parts, partial fender-well headers that we refinished and had powder coated. I'm running them with RPM heads, with head studs and we had to modify the flanges a bit to get them to clear the head studs. But, they actually fit fairly good. Yes, the tube length vary quite a...

    440+Good cam+Good heads=LOTS O TQ

I agree. That and the weight savings is nice. Obviously someone who knows what they are doing can get a cast iron cylinder head to flow well. And unless you're doing it yourself, you're going to have a ton of money into them. You're going to have a good amount into any cylinder head done right...

    Which Heads?

I personally won't run any aftermarket head OOTB. If you can buy them bare, do it. Have a good valve job put on them, and don't skimp on valve train. Make sure you check everything during assembly, and you're golden. I don't care what head you buy, that should be common practice. You can always...

Very nice! If I may ask, how did the install of the AlterKation go? I'm getting ready to put one in my '67, and would like to hear some feed back.

Big Block Conversion, do it again?

Meh. My 496 is a raised deck, in my '67 Dart. 2 1/8" Pro Parts headers and D1SC procharger in the engine bay. The plugs aren't that bad to get to. Especially compared to some late model hot rods I've built and owned. Using ARP header bolts with a 5/16" hex head makes getting at those a lot...

    Stroker Combo Questions

My last build was a 496" raised deck. Crank was a K1 4.150 stroke with 2.200" rod journals. The rods were 6.800", so the rod ratio was 1.654". The compression height on the pistons I ordered was 1.825". I used the 440 block, because that's what I had. Seems like a lot of people say to go with...

Other than you using a roots style blower, and having a bit more stroke. You are fairly close to my 496 raised deck. Here is my cam card... May help give you some direction.
