    Yes it will bolt right in place.You might have to shorten your driveshaft though.Back when I first put the V8 and 8 3/4 in my 66 Dart,I used a driveshaft from a 73 Dart V8 car.I,ve since gone with a Dana 60 and chrome moly driveshaft.:D

    Pushing your luck.It may survive,but that one burnout may end up hooking and snap an axel.My advise would be to at least use C-clip eliminators if keeping the 8 1/4.JMO

    Upper control arms on these cars are notorious for the upper ball joint threads to rot,making the ball joint separating from the control arm....something to check.JMO

    The 8 1/4 will be large bolt pattern and the 8 3/4 will be small bolt pattern,unless axels on the 8 3/4 have been swapped already.Something to check before jumping in.

    Hi Wally...I ran a stock flex plate with a 2500 stall with the weight on it with no problems.The converter was purchased from The Converter Man in Toronto.Just sayin :D

    Get the 904 rebuild cause you already have one in your car,so no parts,linkage,driveshaft swapping.My advise to you is keep it simple...rebuilt with new belts,clutches and a Trans-Go 2 shift kit.A 2500-3000 stall converter will work fine with a stock 318,340,360.:D

    Upgrade from the 7 1/4 is normal amongst the A- body crowd.Find a used 8 1/4 or 8 3/4 for cheaper.Heck I have a Dana 60 built in my car for 2k...Look in the Mechanical parts for sale forum for a better deal local.

    It sounds like you found the right width from an A-body...52 5/8 flange to flange,then add the two 2 inch drums = 56 5/8 :D

    Yes I agree also that a 2500 stall seems about right,but I,m concerned about the 18 inch tires with a 3.55 gear.     Call a well known convertor shop (Ultimate,Dynamic,Coan), give them your engine specs(mostly cam)gear size,tire size and your intended use for the car(street/strip or race).Your convertor is a key piece to the performance of your car,so be truthful when explaining use of the car.Good luck.:D.

    Early Hemi,s weren,t running 650hp,also the Hemi 4 speed cars came with a Dana60.

    Many high HP cars running braced 8 3/4,4 link,latter bar setups with no issues.I went with a Dana60 after having my own issues with a 8 3/4...now have piece of mind after 2 seasons...no issues.JMO

    I also got some good advise from Rob(crackedback)while doing my mini tub and 8 3/4 narrowing.I ended up going 46 5/8 which is 3 inches off each side.I run 12 inch rims with 4.5 backspace.Now have done the same with a Dana60.:D
