If you knew if it were cast or steel crank then you would be set..Steel is internal but I think you need to see the parting line width on crank to tell.. Someone else will chime in here though

73 were cast crank external balance.. They used a special front balancer and flywheel

Only thing copper from the cam would be the cam bearings.. I don't think lifter or lobe would give you that color in the flakes... Said you heard a noise so whatever is going bad it getting there already

I have 703 .513 lift one in my 340 6 pack duster. It's very quiet. Pulls great through the rpms as well. Stock rockers btw

I do have alum 4 barrel, mt valve covers and few other spare parts to put it together. Motor comes with box of parts. Front cover, oil pump, timing chain. Think goin to offer 200 and if he takes it pull it down and go over it. Make a decent spare if any of my 340s let go

here are some pictures It has heads with new valves and springs.. I call them crap because to me they are nothing special or performance. I think 1.94 mid 70's if I remember right. If i do buy it I want to tear it down, clean the crank, relube bearings, re torque everything etc.

Yea stock rockers and push rods up top. You would never know it but I can hit my 6800 rpm rev limiter with ease.

I run a 150 shot on my 68 340 with no issues at all. System I use is the nos cheater. I also have a nos sniper set up 150 shot on a built sbc in a vega with no issues. The cheater set up has a hi flow bottle valve, bigger solenoids and brackets to hold the solenoids. Just a much better kit.

You would have to get a an fitting or earls style fitting that goes to npt (nation pipe thread) for the size of the hole in the intake. Not sure what size they are. Someone on here should know

318 heads with 20 thousands off.... did the 340 spec cam make the valve springs have coil bind...

i run a cheap procomp rev limiter on my 340 with orange box and has worked good for 40ish dollars, has a knob to set the limit where ever instead of using pills

might have to clean carbs, some dirt in the jets would make it run like crap under load, at idle no load

cheater kit is 150-250 max.. sniper is 100-150 N.O.S. ratings.. some on here say you can get a bit more the cheater kit has bigger solenoids, hi flo bottle valve and a different plate as well.

I use a nos cheater plate set up.. very simple install and has not given me one problem. I also run a cheaper sniper kit with no issues at all
