WHAT OIL FILTER NEEDED FOR 1976 SB MOTOR

Or, you could say screw it, buy an oil filter relocation kit, move the filter up to the inner apron and run a short or long filter as you see fit, and not have to worry about the headers to take it on or off.

    Indy LA-X vs. Eddy heads

He doesn't know everything. But he does know enough not to print stuff that may wind up getting the magazine sued.

Replacing engine without removing the tranny?

It's just like taking the tranny off the engine with both out of the car, but this time you're leaving the tranny in. Starter, dust shield, have to come loose. Gotta spin the engine over to get the convertor bolts. I'm sending you a PM with a question. Take tranny loose. Everything else is...

should i dropkick my kid brother for going into the garage?

Exactly. He took it apart, now have him on hand when it goes back together to help you figure out where the bolts go. Good bonding experience for you both!

    Smallblock intake manifold shootout.

    That they would!

    Smallblock intake manifold shootout.

And it's the Offy 360* which sits on the 360. Love it. Pop did about a year's worth of research before getting this intake for his set up.

    Colour of small Block

My E63 383-4bbl is turquoise, too. So it's not just on the two barrel big blocks. FYI.

Yeah, like I said in another thread: Pop built an engine that will never work on the street...

    Smallblock intake manifold shootout.

Maybe it's because Offy doesn't spend the money advertising in said mag?

    Smallblock intake manifold shootout.

To me, Rob, that statement makes the most sense. I've got a combo sitting here - granted it was built a while ago - which came out of dodgepower's Duster and is now in Pop's and my Dip. According to a lot of people here, and in the mags, this combo should never run on the street like it does...

    Black oil?

Good point, George, about high comp. Hence the reason diesels always look like dark molasses at oil changes. (That and sulfur...but I digress.)

    318 poly... Hemi?

Yes, the information you were given was definately wrong about the 318 A (Poly.) The 318, 277, and 301 all evolved out of the Plymouth line of Poly's from the '50s and were never used as foundations for 1G Hemis.

    Machining cost

My machinist here in NY and the other who's been getting more of my work in TN have kind of a price "menu" for basic costs, in the range of what dartguy has given you. If either one of them runs into unforseen issues once they have the block then phone calls are placed to let me know. But boring...

    What spark plug?

Seems to me any stock range plug or one that's on the cooler side like rumble suggested would work with that set up. From here on out looks like the thread is going to turn into a "my dad can beat up your dad" kind of thing. But as for autolites, really, I've run 'em in brand x and replaced them...

    What spark plug?

Personally, I run Champs in all my Mopars and my wife's Hyundai (OE for that, too). The Ford gets Motorcraps. Seen too many autolites fail over the years for stupid stuff like cracked porcelines after just a few hundred miles. You gave us the mechanicals of the engine, but not the electricals...

    Mopar OEM EFI

I thought Mopar Performance was doing a plug and play for just this swap? The ECU was supposed to be programmed to eliminate the O2s and downstream cat monitors. They haven't released this yet? I thought that's what MA's Savoy was supposed to be: a test bed for MP to get this all out to the public.

    @$##@% Heads!

I've done this on body bolts, say for broken or seized truck box bolts on newer Fords back when I was a collision man. Even broken off these bolts will still get a grip thanks to the shank on 'em. If I'm thinking of the same technique you're talking about welding a smaller diameter bolt to...

318 2bbl manifold swap with OE cam - worth it?

I'm hearing a lot about intakes, exhaust, carbs, cams, etc. Man, I was waiting to hear the obvious. Wake up a 318? 360 heads. Reason why Mopar used the 360 upper end on all those 318 cop motors back in the day. The more air in, the more air out, the more horse being made... Takes half a day to...
