I need new headers when I install the 408 in my 73 Dart Sport. I had the 1 3/4 tti picked out but I see they also have the 1 7/8 as well. I always thought it is better to breathe as well as possible and am thinking of the 1 7/8. It is rated for 550hp and up and I am in the 500hp range. What do you think? I believe bigger is better in this case.

I'd normally say go for the 1 7/8 but I'd wait till I'd hear from someone using them along with a 727 (that way you know it'll work with the 200r4).

Cant wait. They have to be here and ready to install when I do this thing. They are supposed to work well with 727, but I think I'll call TTi on Monday just to be sure they will work with the 200R4.

I'd bet money the 1 5/8-1 3/4 step headers will outperform the straight 1 7/8" headers at that level.

Seen it more than once.

If you want fit and 1 7/8 buy tti, if you want 1 7/8 headers that make HP, look elsewhere

All the headers I have are double duty. Part header, part skid plate. I want performance and fit, and to more dragging on the ground!

I'd still buy the step header for a 500 hp 400" engine. The 1 7/8 will not make any more power, likely less and the mid range TQ will be down... lose/lose IMO

I run the TTI 1 7/8 headers with a 904 trans and the fit I thought was fantastic.Car does dual duty as a street/strip car and the headers are tucked up very nicely.
