340 vin numbers

1968 Cuda checking for a mathing numbers car. Where would the vin numbers be on the 340 engine? This car is 340 Formula S 4 speed 1968 Barracuda.

For the car? Drivers door jam inbetween the hinges you'll find the cars vin number.

Engine block, take a good look, you'll see them. Might have to scrape some grease to see them on the machines flat pad.

Didn't the VIN plate move to the dash in 68?

IIRC they are stamped on the passenger side just above the oil pan on the rail

They are located on the top of the block where the transmission and bellhousing meet at 12 o'clock for a '68.
Some early build cars don't have them though.........

As far as I know they didn't start stamping blocks until after January 1 of 68.
