how much can you bore out a 360 block? its .030 over now, but has some scratches on a few of the cylinders that I can catch my finger nail on. it appears to be a 1973 block .

What he said. Cheap to find out.

also check piston availability before you commit if you are thinking of shelf pistons

Check the casting number on the side of the block...
any 360 should go .040....there are many many pistons available at .040
have a .060 360 that we raced for 10 yrs....now it is .070 and awaiting further duty...it is a 73 block....

but as said....before you spend alot of money on a .060 and over have it sonic checked....we didn't lol

i went .060 on my 408. That said, it was sonic checked to make sure. I personally would not go pass .060 unless its a dedicated race only block.

It all depends on the cylinder wall thickness.

Check the piston availability you're looking at, and then sonic test the block. Only way to know for sure is to test it. If what you want in pistons is extra for .040 or .060 over, it might not be worth it anyway. 360s around here are cheap.
