Has anyone used this cam ( Mancini Racing Purple Cam .484" / .484" Lift. 239/239 Duration @ .050" 108 + 0 L/C ) and how did it perform. Not building a race car just a nice running and sounding 383
FWIW, Mancini doesn’t have a Mancini version, they have a MoPar Performance camshaft.I don't have a Mancini version, but I have an original DC Purple shaft (with 106 CL?) that I bought about 40 years ago that I just put in my 400 truck engine race car last year with about 9.6 comp. I think the cam would work a lot better if it had 11.5 comp. That said, it runs 12.80s, never revving about 5,800 rpm with 3.9 gears, but it doesn't have much vacuum, and is kind of hard to tune. I have driven it on the street a couple thousand miles and tried a stock redone 10" convertor and another one with an about 1200 rpm stall higher, it much preferred the latter with about 3,600 stall.
The above person seems to have done really extra well with this cam. In the parts catalog, it is listed for the 13.5 ET, a 2200-5900 rpm cam. This is a really good street muscle cam.Has anyone used this cam ( Mancini Racing Purple Cam .484" / .484" Lift. 239/239 Duration @ .050" 108 + 0 L/C ) and how did it perform.
