Hi guys i just bought a. 426 hemi siamese + aluminium heads . Stock 4.24 bore engine , some people said that i can stroke it up to a 572 and some others said that i couldnt..so im looking at all possibilities... Want to run 10.1 compression , 4bbl carb , and looking for a very reliable 600 hp / 600 torque : i am new to big blocks and new to siamese and strokers..always ran 318 340 360s

Can't comment on the technical things since I've only messed with small blocks, but I just want to say that you've got one hell of a nice looking engine. Always wanted a 426. They've definitely got a wow factor that's hard to beat.

Thx a lot , ive been driving my 74 barracuda and 76 duster and played around small blocks...but i got what i wanted. Was fed up of searching around and i was asking myself what i really wanted..., my first choice was a 71 but i bought myself a 70 bs23 cuda...its a big project but it will be a 70 hemicuda tribute , fj5 sublime green , im doing everything i can to achieve my dream even if its a lot of money , hey we live once.. Live youre dream.

Gotta agree on doing what you want. We only go thru life once. Enjoy it!!

If it's going to be a tribute car why not make it a '71 tribute car ? Fenders and grill is all it takes.....

Now that is **** ! drool.....

Looks like all new parts.
Did you buy these new?

yes u can get a 572 out of it, w/ bore and stroke. YOU LUCKY DOG !

Lucky yes and no !!Took 32 hours to get it...amd a lots of money and still a load to put in it : A 572...they said that a 4.25 bore up to 4.50 was 0.125 over...? Is this true ??? Looks like a waste of a good block no ??

Ive seen some articles that said that with only a cam swap , headers and intake and proper carb i can pop up almost 600 hp...without touching the heads and compression , my goal of 600hp 600 tq is not that hard as i see.

Go to a 4.280" bore, and put in a 4.150" crank for a 474ci, or a 4.250" crank for a 489ci. 600+ HP/TQ will be easy.

This 528 used a 238@.050" hydraulic roller cam, and made 653hp/624tq with only 9.95:1 compression. It doesn't take much with a Hemi.

you definitely don`t need to go that big to get 600 horses out of a hemi . compression and cam, u can get that out of one much smaller than 572.

There are YouTube videos of 426 Hemis built exactly to stock street specifications (including exhaust manifolds) pushing 500 HP so it definitely shouldn't take much to make 600. I think if it was mine I'd build it so it had room to grow later on because "You can never go fast enough" :D

looking to built my 70 hemicuda as a driver , street and highway use , and a 5 or 6 speed with 3.54 dana rear end , oversize to these huge amount of bore size it will not affect anything since theres a lot of material? , and it can be bored and stroked without a problem of overheating of reability ? Jeez 4.25 to 4.500 isnt like 0.0125 over ??? Looks like something that isnt worth it, no ?

P5153843 : as i see everyone who sells this were selling it with 572 pistons...but i dont have any infos if this block is really a 4.25 rough bore or a 4.500 bore engine , my block is not near me and its stored for winter , but im looking around for deal on 528 or 572 pistons and crank but im confused !

Find out what size your rough bore is for sure, then worry about parts. Because, you can build a pump gas 423 ci small block for the street that can make 550 lb-ft of torque and 600 hp. So a 528ci pump gas Hemi for the street will go 660 lb-ft and 740 hp. Been there, done both.

Oh, going from 4.250 bore to a 4.500 bore is 1/4" over (.250").

this. don`t waste ur time and $ going real big, u can get 600 out of a 426 !

I was thinking to maybe port the heads and intake and good cam + 10.1 compression...and maybe leave it as a 426 c.i.

Open to bore up to a conventional dimension for piston availability, ie 4.280, 4.310 etc so there's life for rebuilds without sleeving the block, then buy a 4.25 or 4.5" crank for the cubes, which makes compression simpler. For example, a 4.31 bore x 4.5 stroke gives 525 CI. You're gonna get hosed on a custom/semi custom piston no matter what, I'd spec for a 7.100 rod and a .990 pin and see if I can keep a little weight out of the piston, maybe keep it under 700gms or so.

I guess the real question is what parts do you have already besides the heads and block? S/F....Ken M

you don`t need to work a stock set of heads much either. make sure their clean and smooth around an under the valves. I have had 2 426`s, and never seen a mismatched port on one !

X2. 4.250 bore and 4.500 stroke is 510 cubes and will easily make your goals. Other than having those heads checked out and making sure the guides and valve job is right, you shouldn't have to spend big money on porting to make that kind of power. I'd get a StageV intake or at least a dual quad stocker over that single four intake.

The 3.54's are pretty steep with an overdrive. You may want to consider lowering them. I run 3.73's in my '70 with the Passon 5-speed and 29" tall Nitto Drag Radials. It's hard to keep the rpms above 2000 on the local freeways....legally.

If you really want to be able to enjoy the car, consider running EFI on it. Once you drive a performance EFI system, it would be a pain to put up with carbs on the street again.

I had problems hooking up AND having compliant ride quality on the street until I found what I consider the holy grail of rear suspensions after 30+ years of trying. Nitto's are a large part of the answer. You better consider welding in some sub-frame connectors too.
