I'm looking for the best thread or ideas on the best /6 build up. I'm looking at an intake/exhaust upgrade. 8.0/9.0 compression piston. The head will be ported and polished and I'm looking for info on where to find the 1.70 intake valve I've seen so much about. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. And no I'm not looking to turbo or supercharge the motor.

You'll hear the name "Clifford" come up, but be very careful before you decide to spend any money with Clifford. They have a long and ugly reputation for being a bunch of clowns; see for example here, here, here, here, and here. Much of what they sell is inaccurately described, and a lot of it is not even slightly cost-effective. The good news is that you don't need to go to Clifford to get hot rod parts for slant-6s; there are lots of other, better options. See for example Dutra Duals and header options discussed in this thread and this one, Erson custom cams, HEI ignition upgrade, Mike Jeffreys windage trays, Hurricane intakes, other exotic intakes. Hi-perf engine buildup here, high-perf parts and build info here.

What do you know about Hughes Racing. The guy I talked to seem fairly knowledgeable on Mopar engines. I like to get some actually feed back from anyone that has experienced their Whiplash Cam, either for the /6 or even a V8

Rather than choosing brand names and vendors and parts at this stage, it's best to start with a set of very specific goals for what you want this engine to do, and how, under what conditions, in what kind of car, with what transmission and rear axle ratio and tire size, running what kind of gasoline, at what altitude above sea level, on what kinds of roads, at what kinds of speeds, and with what budget (in time and money and effort).

Starting by picking a list of parts that sound sexy is a good way to spend a lot of money to wind up with an unhappy result.

The build is for my wife's Dart GT. She wants that rough idle with some stout throttle response. No desire to turn it into a drag car, no desire to install a V8. It will retain the factory 904 with some shift enhancements. The rearend will stay a 7.25, floating on either a 3.73 or 3.91, 3.91 gears I already have. BBP rear axles with disc brakes up front. Tire size will be based on what rims I go with. Would like to find a set of 17x7 Torque Thrust rims, which will most likely have a 26" tall tire. I don't feel a need for a high compression /6, I like what the guy said about the Whiplash Cam, being it builds cylinder pressure. Will allow me to run pump gas and race if I wanna. With any upgrade to one part of the motor, other parts need to be upgraded as well. I want a Mild with a little Wild setup for the wife.
