Anybody know if the bottom windshield trim on a convertible is the same as a hardtop? The bottom only. Thanks

Can not say with any certainty that it is Convertible part. (My dad bought it many years ago)

I did look on Precisions website last night and they are available for 67-69 but very pricey. ThanksThe mylar piece that goes in the bottom of 67/8/9 vert gasket is shaped different from what goes in 67 model gaskets. Correct piece is reproduced but I forget who/where. Steele? Layson?

What I heard and what I am going to try to do, is to get a B body lower windshield trim piece, trim it to fit and use that when I replace the windshield and seals.
Ok now I'm more confused then ever.
I was under the impression that 67 dart convertible (presume barracuda too) used the Mylar strip but 68-69 convertible used stainless held on with clips.
Is this not true?

Or use 68/9 barracuda/dart, that's what I'm planning for our 69 cuda vert.

I was going to do the same thing, but I heard the ends of the A body trim would taper off before it gets to the A - piller trim. However, I was not able to confirm that. I do have that trim piece at my parents place ready for my hard top dart, but never tried to lay it on the convertible to see how it looks.
If you add the 4 or 5 clips and the lower piece of stainless reveal from a 68 and up hardtop you will still need at least a portion of the original mylar strip to lock the gasket. Why b-body is mentioned above is a mystery to me.
The convertible gasket is shaped different from others from about middle to top of the a-pillar posts. I suppose one might cut and graft 2 gaskets sections together. Use the lower portion and about 3 inches up a-pillar post from the hard top gasket. I've got the piece of a-body reveal molding, the clips, etc... I've laid it on the vert and it looks like it would work fine. The one part I dont have is a good used 68 up hard top gasket. Not sure I'm brave enough to cut my good vert gasket though. Not sure what adhesive I would use to join the rubber either. The type that comes with inner tube patch kit? In the end I would probably discover why the factory never placed a stainless reveal molding there in the first place. Wind noise or other unexpected issue.You could change to the gasket that does not require the mylar strip then your golden.
and I mentioned the b-body lower windshield trim because that is what I heard would work after it has been trimmed down. The curvature is to be the same between a-body and b-body (or so Im told).
