Accessory Belt length

My current Alternator on my car has a 5 inch pulley. I'm looking to swap that out back to a stock size alternator setup.

I'm looking for the length of a stock size belt with no power steering. Just crank, waterpump, and alternator pulleys.

Also what belt brand is preferred.

Any help appreciated.
 
What year and size engine???

I like Gates and Goodyear belts and hoses the best...

I'm not a fan of Dayco....
 
Maybe i'll just wait to get the new alternator and set it up and just measure the length. The crank and water pump pulleys look stock.

Joe, look closely at his picture - he has the old 69 and earlier style engine with the cast iron water pump and bell shaped W/P pulley... (Edited to say w/p pulley instead of alt pulley)

The stuff that you show are for the 70 and later set up with the aluminum water pump...

He should get the proper alt & pulley config to work with that... He has the proper pulley for the 69 and earlier config...

he must have posted that as i was posting my pics.. never saw that pic.. so yea he needs 69 leangth belt..

yes for 70-up.... now that i've seen your picture you have 69-down style water pump and pulleys on your car..

Would 70-up pulleys work with a 69 waterpump? I'm actually looking to replace my pulleys with polished ones and don't know which ones to get.
 
no power steering you can get away with a single groove crank pulley..

as long as all this is correct you should be good to go..
