suggestions needed for cam selection!

Im looking to build a High 14/low 15 Sec Street Bracket car using the following below, What suggestions have you got on a good cam selection?

This will be a Low Budget build for my 74 Dart 4dr using some extra parts laying around!

Stock 318 short Block
904 (Mild shift kit, stock stall)
8.25 rearend (3.55) Maybe going with (3.91)
3418915 340 "J" heads 1.88/1.60 (Stock no Mods)
Carter TQ 6139 (stock 72 340 Carb)
Cast 3614025 (340 Intake)
Stock 318 Exhaust Manifolds

Ahhhhrggggghhh, my right click button crappped out. I was goonnnna link you to a Crane cam.

272/284 (@ .050, 216 - 228 I think.) -.454-.480 on a 112.

Smooth idle, decent mileage, power band from approx. 1200 - 5500 rpm. Works well in my Duster with a stock 79 318, headers, edel. LD4B and 600 carb, stock 904 and 3.21's. 318 stock heads.

Speed pro CS-1019R
288/298
214/224
.443/.465
LC 107/117 112sep

There are a bunch of cams out there that are sold with similar specs on e-bag. Plus they are CHEAP!!!

In my 340 with this cam, car goes 101-102. Manifold, 750Vac, Headers and ignition... that's it. Idles with 15-16 inches of vacuum at 750-800 rpm.

If you are using the manifolds, a Comp Cams XE262 cam would be a god match, with relatively smooth idling.

If you upgrade to headers, give the XE268 a try, 1500-5800 rpm range with a lopey idle, but still decent low end. It may work fairly well with the 3.55s and stock to slightly warmer converter.

With either, run a 600-650 CFM Holley or Edelbrock carb.

That would be my choices as well
