Does anyone sale crankshafts anymore to Destroke an LA engine ???
Just curious
Just curious
Interesting thank you .Look for a crank for a 301 wide block. This engine was produced in the late 50s and is a short stroke 318 wide block. the crank drops right in a 318 or 340 and only needs an 8 bolt hemi flex plate to bolt in. All of the cranks are forged right from the factory.

Thank you also looking @ the nice Molnar stroker kits @ Cambell Enterprises which areDestrokers sound cool and all, but rpm is expensive.
If you want to be different, just be that guy that has the hardest running 340/360/408 in your area. Attention to detail and troubleshooting/refining the combination is rare enough nowadays that you'll stand out among the "buy a kit and throw it together" crowd.
Saw a CL ad for a machine shop in Buford GA that was clearing their inventory of old cranks etc. Might be worth contacting. Here is the CL email linkThank you also looking @ the nice Molnar stroker kits @ Cambell Enterprises which are
349
370
390
392
402
CI versions and will drop right in a 318 prepped block.

I mentioned that earlier in this thread, a 340 bore will flow more air than the 318 boreI ran a hot little stock stroke 318 for several years( mid 11’s in a 3400 pound car) the liability with a 318 block is the tiny bore size. Big bore = big power. Still can make good power, but bigger bore is much more optimal.
