I share all this not to brag but because I want to see what you all think about the intake, cam and engine set up? It runs grreat but doesn't seem to scream like my 70 chevelle small block and first car I owned. ( Small block 350 with a highrise intake but it would launch and catch some RPMs ) This Dodge car sounds like it will pull the wheels off the ground the way it lopes but I'm not sure its that fast yet. I'm not sure I've literally only driven it about 20 miles and done a couple launches to see what it would do in a straight line.

I'd like to buy a hood or hood scoop for the car. I love love the way a HEMI hood scoop takes up almost the whole hood. I've read the pros and cons of some hoods such as grabbing to much air and blowing off, bolt on every 2", I also really like the dual hood scoops they made in 72. Can you all recommend a good entire hood with scoops or a bolt on for my untouched hood? ( I welcome all your pics ) I actually thought about adding a tunnel ram and two fours and just cutting my current hood for that set up. Would you all recommend a dual tunnel ram on this set up? I think they look awesome and understand it could add quite a bit more power? Thoughts or suggestions on hoods, hood scoops, tunnel rams all appreciated. This car is just for fun I want to cruise in it and keep it driveable to car shows and for trips, the build was intended for Power touring but I'd like a little more off the line umphhth to jack up some of those persistent cocky fellas I come across.

Last I'd like to stripe the rear of the car with a traditional stripe. I cant find any 72 Model darts with stripes from the factory and Phoenix who does the decals on here doesn't have a specific 1972 Dodge Dart rear stripe that I could find? Is there another year model that will fit on mine?

Thanks everyone I'm just getting started and welcome all your suggestions on looks, motor set up, gearing, heads, you all are the pros. :prayer:

Sounds like a great combo as is.

What suggestions are you looking for?

I would consider changing the intake to a Edelbrock rpm. What do you know about the converter? You only said it was rebuilt. What's the stall? Might want to get a converter to match the combo. Check with a reputable company. Not TCI. Please don't cut a hole in your hood, or put a tunnel ram on it. The car will run better with a single 4 barrel. Car looks very cool.

I like it.
I wouldn't change anything for now, just drive it and enjoy it!
Welcome to FABO, BTW.........

Here are a few pics of the engine; I'll pull the car outside for better pictures and lighting.

I'd like to know more about the stall and torque converter on the car also; I cant find any literature on it so far in my paperwork stack that I was given. I do have the Transmission shops info; maybe I can call them.

I'm not crazy about cutting up a good hood but I do like the idea of a replacement or hood scoop and think it will look good on this car. I've always liked Mopar hood scoops and bodies.

Performance wise I was just curious if the intake was killing the performance, and if I was missing something major in this build? I'm open to suggestions and just want to have a peppy 383 that will humble a new ricer, mustang, Camaro or those who try to entice me once in a while.
