I went to look at a set of heads for my 360. They were not a matched pair, so I wanted to run it by everyone first.
First head was a U stamped head ....341915 E ...had another number 01150
then AAWJ 360

Second head was a J head ....341915 F with 0942
AAWJ 360

they both have the big valves in them (he said he redid the J head and installed matching valves...)
will these work well together ...?...is there a difference in the U and J heads...?
whats that second series of numbers mean? 01150 0942 ?

thanks

Same basic head. No real difference.

Run them if they are good.

Go for it Scooty. That's as close as you need to be. The last 3 numbers (915) tell the story you need to know. The casting letter is like a run letter or number. All the 340/360 heads flow within a few cfm of each other including the smog heads, though down just a few cfm, there very close. The X head is a few cfm above the rest and that is in part to the 2.02 valve. The casting is not any different than a J-O-U etc... head.
