High Impact Color Production % #'s

ok here is a breakdown of the high impact color production numbers by model. it is only the the percentages. these precentages will need to be divided into the car production totals to get the actual number of cars made with the paint color. these numbers are for 1970-1973 , sorry no numbers for 1969 models........

1970 dart 340: plum crazy=14% , sublime=6.7% , go mango=6.8% , hemi orange=7.1% , lemon twist=10.0% , green go=0.4% , panther pink=0.6%

1970 dart swinger: plum crazy=2.9% , sublime=1.0% , go mango=0.9% , hemi orange=1.1% , lemon twist=3.6% , green go=0.1% , panther pink=0.2%

1970 duster 340: plum crazy=3.2% , sublime=5.7% , go mango=5.7% , hemi orange=8.1% , lemon twist=11.3% , green go=1.7% , panther pink=1.9%

1970 duster: plum crazy=3.2% , sublime=2.2% , go mango=1.8% , hemi orange=1.4% , lemon twist=1.4% , green go=0.7% , panther pink=0.7%

1971 dart swinger: plum crazy=1.4% , hemi orange=1.4% , lemon twist=0.5% , green go=0.5% , citron yella=1.0% , bahama yellow=3.6%

1971 demon 340: plum crazy=9.5% , hemi orange=16.7% , lemon twist=0.1% , green go=4.2% , citron yella=7.1% , bahama yellow=8.9%

1971 demon: ? unknown at this time * percentages may be included with 1971 dart swinger #'s or combined with the demon 340 #'s*

1971 duster 340: plum crazy=3.6% , hemi orange=13.6% , lemon twist=1.8% , green go=6.5% , citron yella=6.7% , bahama yellow=5.0%

1971 duster: plum crazy=2.1% , hemi orange=4.6% , lemon twist=1.7% , green go=2.1% , citron yella=2.1% , bahama yellow=3.3%

1972 dart swinger: hemi orange=7.4% , lemon twist=2.8% ,

1972 demon 340: hemi orange=15.2% , lemon twist=10.4%

1972 demon: ? unknown at this time * percentages may be included with 1972 dart swinger #'s or combined with the demon 340 #'s*

1972 duster 340: hemi orange=11.7% , lemon twist=9.2%

1972 duster: hemi orange=3.6% , lemon twist=3.2%

1973 dart swinger: lemon twist=2.5%

1973 dart sport 340: lemon twist=10.5%

1973 dart sport: ? unknown at this time * percentages may be included with 1973 dart swinger #'s or combined with the dart sport 340 #'s*

1973 duster 340: lemon twist=9.7%

1973 duster: lemon twist=7.5%

* my guess on the non 340 model demons, and dart sport's are the numbers are combined with the 340 models. seeing as the percentages are higher on the 340 models and the production on these cars are fewer that the 340 plymouths models. could be wrong though. i will update if i find the correct breakdown on these models........

Just curious as to were you got this information from, I also have a high impact color breakdown.

Might be from the same source, I'm not 100% sure how accurate these #'s are...

But what else can you go by, when nothing else is around.

Thanks for sharing the info.

PM sent.

these are g**** g***** numbers. i figured i would protect myself here. you guys can figure it out

Nice to know my '71 Citron Yella is only 1%. Maybe not popular, but I love it! Thanks for the info.

7Demon2, would you happen to have any high impact numbers for the 1969 model year C bodies?

There is no "High Impact" colors for 1969.
The "High Impact" colors were available at extra cost for the 1970 model year, through 1973 the last year available.

Although these colors were available in other years, as you could order a car in any color you would like, code "999". They were not marketed by Chrysler as "High Impact" paint option.

I see........have seen a 69 Fury in orange, unsure if it was factory or a respray (like a change from green, for instance).

Hello there

I have it on good authority from people who worked at the plant during that time that no less than 120 and no more than 200 were originally TB3 cars. My good friend worked in the engine assembly plant during that time and called some old friends for this information. That is ALL the JM cars produced. If you accept the american production numbers for 340 demons as less than 9,000. Approximately 1,800 were D21 (4 speed) cars. The production of "C" (canadian cars) and export cars were not recorded. So given this information you could safely assume that about 20 340 demons came in TB3 paint.

This was the lowest production colour for this year. Black was the second least produced. This may seem wrong as it is a very popular colour and many A-bodies are painted this. But very few came stock in this colour. For a purist like myself only original will do.

By the way I have an original 1972 JM D21 TB3 car.

This was my 1970 green go dart swinger daily driver 20 years ago. Just last winter it showed up on craigs list. Looking the same as the day I sold it.
