How many have membership in AARP

I was like bobscuda 67 in that I didn't want to join because it was admitting that I was old. But I am old, I'm still working, and I go out to lunch at Denny's several times a week. The 15% savings each time has paid for my membership several times over.
 
It's a scam. I was a member for a year a few years back. I was continually bombarded with offers to sell me insurance and other things I didn't need. Even three years after my membership expired I get three things a week in the mail trying to get me to join again. They must not know that I have a personal policy of avoiding any entity that advertises too much.
The discount at Denny's was pretty good, but still not worth it.
 
I too, find better deals on everything they offer, auto ins, health, you name it. NO I do not travel so their "discount" at the motel is of no use to me anyway,,,,
I too see them as a ripoff business for us "old folk".
