The issue I'm facing at the moment is Roll bar? Or no Roll bar?
And so it comes down to how much will this thing weigh?

The engine is a 10-1 440, 906's flowing 270 with an xs282 solid, 800DP on a single plane, 1 7/8 header I figure 500hp.
If it weighed 3000lbs with me and hooks, its in the 10's??
120mph is the cut off for no cage cars here, so at that I need a roll bar, but cant be bothered fitting one! :eek:ops:

How much weight did you lose with all them holes? Talk about swiss cheese!

Lookin at the original state of rust, I'm surprised it had not folded in half under its own weight years ago. I wounded how hard it would be to convert to left hand drive for the states? People wouldn't know what they where looking at and it would be a real wildcard amidst the el camino and ranchero fan boys. Is the dash and firewall fit the same as a US valiant? Anyhow good job! Glad to see it is not going to just be left to rust away into dirt.

Timopar- I have said this before, if I had the money I would love to grab a late-60's ute and wagon, import them and convert them to LHD. Then confuse the hell out of people with them. Love alot of the Aussie stuff, you folks seem to do a combination of European style/flair with abit of US influence and V-8 brawn while keeping it uniquely your own. Just gotta respect that.

I'd keep it right hand drive. Thats just too cool.

Right - left swap would be easy, dash and firewall are just a mirror image.
Because of Australian road rules, its only the last 15 or so years you could have an American or European LHD car registered in Australia.
So back in the 70's 80's 90's you had to convert all LHD cars to RHD or you couldn't drive em on the roads, all kinds of cool cars got butchered to RHD... :wack:

I friend in Orange CA has an Aussie Charger R/T still RHD, he loves it and the DMV approved it no problem ;)

It's no big deal about registering a RHD vehicle here in the US! In fact you can order a RHD Jeep Wrangler or one of those 4 door Wranglers - any Jeep dealer will be glad to order it for you.
