I have a new master cylinder PN DBMC10 from right stuff detailing that says it work for both manual and power brake applications. I am going to try running manual brakes to see if i liked them with this master but the grommet does not fit! I pulled the rod out of the old master and and then pulled out the little grommet, well there is no recessed area for the grommet to fit into in the new master. Anyone run into this problem before?

Might work. I used a newer MC in my 64 Valiant w OE brake rod. The rubber grommet locks the rod securely even though the MC piston has no groove.

It's not a big deal. If it's a real loose fit try finding an o-ring that's a little fatter. Nothing says that the rod has to actually "lock" into the master cylinder. Good to have a somewhat snug fit though.

The o ring is a good idea. Kinda scary if it's not securely locked tho :(
