I owned a '69 Dart Swinger back in 1998. It was had a very "healthy" 340 in it. It was a pretty good looking car. It had new paint, a new vinyl top and Cragar S/S wheels. My son and I went to a car show in American Fork, Utah. After the car show they closed down main street for an open header cruise. They also brought in bleachers and had a burn out box hosted by the local fire department who provided hoses and water. As I rolled into the water my son heard someone in the crowd say, "Oh, it's just a Dart." Someone else replied, "Yeah but listen to it!" Spurred on by the first guy's apparent lack of appreciation for things Mopar, I proceeded to fill the entire area with smoke engulfing everyone in the bleachers. To exit you had to turn around and drive back out by the bleachers. As I passed the crowd I got a standing ovation. "It's just a Dart" that!
I also get an occasional "Nice Mustang" comment for my Barracuda to which I wink and reply, "Thanks! Actually, this fish eats horse meat!"
