I haven’t had the greatest luck with engines. The original stock stroke 360 in my ‘74 power wagon gave up the ghost at repeated 6,000 rpms. Lost a valve and chewed up a piston. LOL.
10 years ago on my barracuda’s stock 318 I rebuilt with just a ring and bearing job as far as short block goes, that threw a rod bearing, again repeated 6,000 rpm. The heads and top end were badass though, RHS heads prepped by IMM, Hughes rockers. Edelbrock Cam.
I shoulda resized the rods and used ARP bolts on that one.
