Sounds like the mystery sea monster that washed up on the east end of Long Islandf. It was a dog, loooooooooong dead.

Looks like a mustelid (member of the weasel family) of some sort with its hair slipping due to decay. The head shape and musculature look like a mustelid for sure. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say is a mink (the hair length and texture seem right). If the hair were shorter I might guess an otter. Nothing really mysterious about it to me.

mink are much smaller { a friend of mine farms them } but I agree with a long dead dog of some sort of cross breed , can't really see a tail of any kind but beaver have pretty thick/coarse hair by which I mean the individual hairs are thick but the pics make it hard to tell only some gene testing will tell for sure I guess eh ?
