Good morning guys. Could anyone tell me if the eariler OEM (71,72...) thermoquad cast intakes were any better performance wise than the newer OEM cast intakes (small thermostat, smogger intakes) ? Thanks, Keith.

hi, I use to run a 73 -340 intake, with EGR fittings in floor. I had removed them and tapped and installed recessed plugs. I swapped on a 71/72 2100 casting intake, it was worth .10 sec faster.changed them at the track. just food for thought.

Well then, I guess for the street, there about equal then, though, if I had the option, I'd go for the earlier casting.

I currently run a '79 iron T-Q intake on my teen. The floor jets are blocked off like Perfacar mentioned. While EGR gas is not bad in itself (Since the valve closes on accel or WOT) the jets in the intakes floor are an obstical. (SP?)
