Around my neighborhood we raced in Wisconsin Ave. right in downtown Milwaukee or took a trip to the burbs... These guys ran up in Ontario.

I remember this video.. Cool stuff...
That's why this website, exists....I first saw this video a few years back and always thought it was damn cool. Cars use to mean so much more than a "means of transportation". It was an all consuming life style that unfortunately went the way of the dinosaur...
--I agree -- 64 Falcon, 260 -- then a 65 Belvedere 426 street wedge -- then a 66 Nova SS L79, 327, 350 HP. -- All 4 speeds.-- Man, best era hands down, _ _ _ _ _

Your absolutely right. Guess what I'm referring to is that when I was a kid virtually everyone was into cars. Souped up stuff was everywhere and all your days revolved around cruising, hanging out, racing and of course picking up chicks...That's why this website, exists....

Very much the same here in the UK back in the 80's. Last Saturday of the month and the famous "Chelsea Cruise" was on, but after, the real fun started, off to Trinity Road for some Street racing, 4 lanes wide at the lights with normal cars in the mix, not the best scenario. Never forget the night of the big police bust there. They pulled every american car over including me in my then '65 Mustang Fastback K code. Spent over 2 hours there while they went through all the cars, time they got to me they just said move on, I wasn't 100% keen on the street racing stuff anyway, thats when I took it to the track.....remember those days with fond memories though!

During the 80's my brother was importing 'gray market' cars from Europe to the US and converting them to US spec cars. I worked for him on occasion driving the cars from his Milwaukee shop to the EPA lab in Chicago where they underwent emission and safety certifications. We had the same in Austria too, in the late 80s.
In Vienna it happened on the 4 - lane 'Triester Straße', near Graz on the 2-lane 'Flughafengerade'.
American and fast European cars, then mostly turbo cars (Renault 5, Mitsubishi Lancer).
Clearly illegal, always on saturday afternoon/night and only as long till the cops came....those were the days...
