71 V24 Duster rebuild to redo

-
Hey guys and gals, spring has sprung and it's time to start thinking DRAG RACING!!
I'ts been a while since posting anything, had a super busy winter and since losing my shop bay I had to park the Duster in the incomplete/unheated garage for the winter. So much for having the car finished for spring. I have been doing some research and my plans for a 6spd Viper trans went out the window when I found out that you have to cut out torsion bar mounts and areas of the floor etc. so the next best best is a Tremec TKO 600 five speed. If anyone has done this to their A body I would appreciate some advice. Last year someone mentioned that someone had posted the conversion in a moparts thread, will look for it today. I'll also put a seperate post in the driveline forum of this site to see if I can peak anyones attention. Hope everyones had a good winter and will post any significant progress for anyone who's interested. Kev

in the pictures of your car , is that the way these v24 option cars came from the factory as far as how the black area is painted? does anyone know if this is correct or have a picture of an original car and where the factory taped off the engine compartment for the black to be sprayed. please chime in if anybody as any info. thanks

Look inot the Passon trans, no floor cutting at all. No missing 3rd gear problem like the Keisler TKO have either.

We need an update please!
Well Macho, I'm sorry to disapoint but not much has happened to the car since the last post. Another summer and winter has slipped by me due to some big changes, moving the machine shop out to my acreage consumed my summer and still left me without a place to work on the car for this past winter. I did purchase headers, shocks and a few other goodies for it as well as a race prepped T-5 trans out of Florida. Hope to get back at it in a month or so, thanks for the interest, will post if any changes are made. Kev

Exactly! I wouldn't cut ANYTHING on that car, one of the VERY few unhacked V24 4 speed cars still existing, modifying and drag racing it would be the LAST thing I'd do with it!

Seriously nice car there buddy!
