always gotta be different

wont get any work done on it this winter as i wont be around, but i plan on getting the chain fender braces and battery hold down chromed and getting the header panel chromed, and ordering a set of triple lake pipes for it, still debating on if i should actually make em functional though

its not for me but i will not put it down but i will stop and look at it

yeah i know its not for everyone, but i figured some people would like it, and im sure everyone can appreciate the work, if not, they just a hater, which helps keep me motivated :D

I bought a 74 duster from a friend that had that same set up. I still have the mechanism hanging in my garage since I put it back to original. Its a cool mod.

I gotta admit, that's purdy neato.

well i got to thinkin last night, i got two extra dash boards, so im thinkin i may have to clean one up n have it chromed

thanks. heres a pick of the steering wheel with a horn button that i modded, thill cant figure out what it came off of, anyone know? also went over the ugly wood grain with prizm tape, added a budwiser beertap for the shift handle and a suicied knob on the 10" chain steering wheel

i dont mind the AM radio, but on long trips its hard to find something that still comes in on the AM, so i took an extra radio i had that worked, and tapped in an ipod hookup, the lil rocker switch lets me go from listening to AM or the ipod whenever i please

and since the old speaker didnt sound to great at higher volumes, i swapped it out for two smaller speakers (cant remember the actual size) in a bracket that i made

I like your style, good to see someone else going in a non-traditional direction with their car.

Really love the chain link fender braces!:glasses7:

yeah, my dad keeps sayin i should just make it go fast, but i told him everyone does that and its been done hundreds of times, i dont wanna follow the norm

well i dug out my 3 extra dashboards and picked out the best lookin one and pull the wire harness off, i pulled the cluster and plastics off before, so i dug them out and a pair of my extra door panels and rear side panels. thinking of redoing the door and rear side panels in red button tuck instead of the tuck and roll, and getting rid of the carpet on the bottom of the door panels.

the dash, i wanna get it chromed, and thinking bout ditching the dashpad and welding up all the holes under it. im gonna end up replaceing the plastic filler piece under the steering column with a custom piece that im gonna make and get chromed at the same time so it all blends in. im also gonna make some custom heater defrost vents, but thats on the hush right now till they are made

the plastic pieces. thinking about smoothing out the woodgrain area and painting it a metal flake red, or using prizm tape on the woodgrain area like i currently have, and painting the black part metalflake red
1129111613.jpg

and the door panels and rear side panels. when i redo em ill end up filling in the speaker holes since mine dont have any there and id have to cut into the structure

I like it except for the wheel knob, it would get in my way. The interior plans sound cool, I think that horn emblem is from a 1965 Fury, cool touch :D

Seen this plate topper on ebay, made me think of your car :prayer:

thanks. for how small the wheel is, the knob really helps. and ive been woundering what the horn button came off of, it was kickin around in my shed for a few years, hope they aint hard to find as i had to chop up the inside to adapt it the grant horn button lol

well i pulled the dash pad off the donodash to see how itd look without it, and i like it, so now ill have to fill in all the mounting holes and the holes behind it. i just duct taped over the holes and spray bombed it chrome to get a better idea, the defrost vents will be swapped out for custom one offs to

also gonna have to rework this area where the pad mounted to on the ends

got the templates cut for all the holes, the template for the vent will be used for each side as they are the same

I find that its easier to make 2 filler pieces rather than 5 if you going to weld up the dash, also square off the openings in the dash insted of trying to fit the patchs into the existing holes. The ends are no big deal, a little hammer and dolly work and then fill in the holes.
I dont like padded dashes either.

You might wanna rephrase the kind of chrome you used.

Just sayin'

I kinda like it. I personally am more fond of just dropping them and calling it good! : D
