Yea... so some one literally made me buy their 69 mustang (super cheap) and im pretty ignorant in vintage fords. its stock as a rock 302/2bbl/c4/9"/ 2" duals combo. I was thinking to clean it up a bit and give it to the wifey to drive until she finds a 67-69 barracuda. What do you guys think a good combo is for this car? intake, 4bbl carb, headers, decent exhaust and roll with it? Anyone here got any parts for these engines/cars?

Oh, heres some pics of it.

Drive it as is! It will be pretty peppy even with the 2 barrel. Most will throw an edelbrock intake on it with a small holley 4-barrel. That is what this one I picked up for my daughter has. Give it a good tune up, convert it to electronic ignition, and enjoy!!!

did you use a distributor for a later small block? or get one of those cheapy procomp hei all in one units for 50 dollars? haha

i dont understand, you guys want a 67-69 barracuda and you picked up this. it a no brainer, dump the stang and buy a 67-69 barracuda. why would you want to put money and time into it if you want a barracuda? unless you really want to keep it....ssshhhhh.....i wont tell anyone

because i basically stole it, they were going to junk it, it was actually on the truck going pick n pull.....

nobody in their right mind would just throw away a 69 mustang in that good of shape to a pull n pay where they would get 550 bucks in scrap money

If your plan is to drive it till you find a barracuda then sell it, I wouldn't do nothing to it and just give it a good tune up and enjoy.

people can like other brands as well as mopar, mind you there not as good :p (fords aren't bad, just not as good)

absolutely. he said wifey wants a barracuda and was going to give that to her to drive. so why not flip that thing or trade it for a barracuda? thats all i was trying to say...its a no brainer, unless he really wants to keep it

wow I thought I joined a MOPAR forum.I'd sell and put the money towards your barracuda purchase.

FLIP for sure.

Good enough as it is. Adding to the car wont make you any more $.

or post it up on the trade forum... might get that cuda youre looking for.

Nahh, don't sell it straight away. Also don't mess with the engine if it runs fine. Drive it for a while, enjoy it (or let wife do this). Then sell it for the Barracuda you really want. It's not like '69 Mustang V8s are depreciating, so why not enjoy it for a bit. That's what I would do. And kudos for saving it.

Nuthin' wrong with those 302's. A 4bbl would only work if you put a little more cam in it and rev it. Enjoy the car!

its still a cool piece of America.......thanks for choosing a Ford and keeping it all American ....our Mopar Vs. Chevy Vs. Ford rivalry ......just keeps us from seeing who the real enemy is.......thats why when i drive down the road and i see a chevy, ford, or dodge, i am most curtious......but when i see a toyota im going to cut it off on the high way, bcoz the best place for a toyota or other japanese car, is over a cliff.

because their dad who owned it just passed away from a medicine OD and they wanted it gone asap.

because i cannot find a barracuda that is in decent shape for the money i currently have, and its way cooler than the forester shes driving.

lol, who cares if its mopar or ford or chebbie? I have plenty of mopars, never had a ford. Trust me, chryco made their share of massive POS cars, just like every other brand.

thanks man, can't complain about the price. i don't understand this brand loyalty bull crud :wack:

That's a great save. I really like that year. A little bit of work and you may not want to get rid of it. Is it an AC car too? It's got magnum wheels...geez..what a deal.

Thanks, it is an ac car... how did you know?

I like that car just the way it is. Drive it! I like all old cars.... don't like most of them as well as Mopars but an old car in nice condition gets my attention. Mustangs and Camaros typically don't have a lot of "Wow Factor" for me like those that came off the line in much smaller quantities but a car in the condition of your Mustang is cool in my book no matter the brand or model.
