Too close to Detroit, lol
yep saw that with a chrome powermaster alternator this past week...went from $40 to $50! Sure is backwards logic especially if the seller is trying to appeal to those who were "watching" the original auction lol

If I wanted to sell the item, I would revise the full listing. The description, photos

Yeah the seller might be depressed, I'm sure he paid good money for the engine but to just change the price and nothing else makes you wounder how they think ?

He does has a make offer but that $5.700 price sets the wrong tone

He'll get a dose of reality when he still has it 6 months from now. It's worth less than half of what he's askin...

That ebay seller is on our site.superdart340 has some of that stuff on hear.

I saw a 1970's "Tiger" muffler just last night on ebay. I don't know if anyone remembers them but they had a picture of a tigers head kinda like the Exxon tiger and were painted in "mod" colors and designs. They were the cheapest alternative to "Thrush" mufflers when I grew up. It had never been used. The guy was selling it as "Art" work. The price was at $169.00 as of then. I remember them being sold at Western Auto for $14.99, $5.00 cheaper than the Thrush mufflers.. What a laugh...who knew..

Bob's a nice guy. Have dealt with him a lot. Yall need to grow up. People have the right to ask whatever the FRACK they want for THEIR stuff. Nobody is makin you buy it.

yeah, I don't get that.

Lists three times, and no one bids at $20, then relists with a $35 BIN.

WTF???

Here's a clue...TRY $15!!!...or $20 and make an offer.

Oh well; another CHEAP BASTARD thread

Happens in the real world also...a friend of mine sold a car that way.

He showed up at the local summer cruise night with a for sale sign on his classic car 3 weeks in a row...each week the price was higher...

He told people flat out...the value of his car was going up.

He sold it the 4th week...for even more.

People can ask what they want...and it will either sell or it won't.

I sell lots of boat parts ( new n used ) on ebay and i do the same thing some times ( raise price ) and guess what people . i often sell the part at the higher price .

Not everyone follows ebay EVERY WEEK. Sometimes you get some action, and gauge the potential price by the number of followers, NOT the highest bid. Because if there is interest, eventually someone will come along and HAVE to have it, and bid to win. I've been selling on eBay since 1999, and have done it myself. Doesn't always work, but eBay is a fun way to make a little change for me, not my livelyhood, so if I bet wrong, no problem. If I needed to dump something in a hurry, this tactic would not be my choice. Ebay and classifieds are not charity for poor and cheap hobbyists. If you don't like the price, move on.

I clicked "buy it now" on a $258 camera system....it said 10 available. An hour later the seller emailed me and said he was out of that product, I checked the transaction, he modified the product description, added $1000 to the price but the product model number was the exact same. This was for item 140683537182. Called ebay...the opened an investigation. nothing was really done except it took a week to get my money back.

Well here's the deal. Can you build a 340 for the higher ad price? Probably not. Not with al the parts and machine work he has in it. Shop around for a stock bore and stroke 340 engine. You'll see. Make sure it includes everything he's selling with his, too. It's a good deal whichever ad you pick. As for the seats, since when are they reproducing early A body seats? Yeah, I hear crickets.

i dont really ever hear about ebay unless im logged in here. i dont shop ebay and i probably never will. but if people are jacking up prices and people are buying , then more power to them

X2....I sell alot on eBay, stuff doesn't sell, I will wait for awhile, then usually lower the price. Funny thing is, I have had several items not sell at $9.99 2 or 3 different times, then all of a sudden people are interested a few weeks later and the item sells for $50, funny, if the winning bidder was on a week earlier he could of had it for $9.99! I have also raised prices $10 and the parts do get bids so I understand this. The eBay seller is a member here, sometimes his prices are on the higher side but he has very nice and usually rare parts.

Sounds like if you were watching the auction you are looking fir a 340? So why not email the seller and ask why the price increase and make him an offer? I also bet if you were to search his ads on this site you will find it listed here and it may be cheaper, probably get a better deal too.

I've been looking for an undercenter spring for my 383-s for sometime now. There is a guy that has listed one for 55 bucks or offer at least two dozen times. It never sells. I have offered 25 bucks for it a half dozen times. He keeps turning me down. I don't know how much he has spent listing the stupid spring, but he is losing money every time. You would think he would give up and ask less just to be done with it.

hey DODGE FREAK,the items are listed on here for an FABO discount where ther are no fees for listing, selling or paypal,so thats why the prices are higher on ebay if your interested shoot me an offer and we will go from there,,now get off the free lunch line and quit bashing people!!
