Hello everyone just wanted to give everyone the heads up here as I was ripped off by a person that replied to my parts wanted add on our site here, The person was not a member here and contacted me through A bodies with a set of headers for sale we emailed back and forth and I had a bad feeling about the deal but went head with it anyway as the deal seemed real good I agreed to send half the money and the balance when I received the headers he wouldn't take paypal and would only accept Moneygram so I went along with it the addresss he gave me was an empty lot in Texas and the phone number was also no good he asked me to send the funds in his wifes name claiming he was sick and couldn't leave the house to receive it and that she would send it out his name was Jim Ramirez Garcia and his wifes name is Patricia Ramirez Address: 308 Campbell Dr Canyon Lake, TX 78133-6449 is what they gave me the money was picked up in Corpus Christie TX Moneygram outlet I was scammed big time here have emailed them everyday now and after a week today I got a reply : And here is what it reads : THIS EMAIL HAS BEEN HACKED!! SUPPORT ISIS!
Anybody have any idea's on what if anything can be done about this ???

I do understand your concern and I also would be careful when buying any item sight unseen, but i'm just a retired God-fearing man of over 65yrs of age and I have been honest and sincere in all my financial dealings and life endeavors. I will never rip-off your hard earned money as I work hard for every penny I earn.

I would have loved to take PayPal but my PayPal account is currently dormant. You have nothing to worry about as Money gram is very strict and very secure. I would need to tender a recently paid utility bill and a valid id card both bearing my home address so payments can be traced if anything goes wrong.

I am currently confined to bed rest at home as I'm recovering from a spinal cord surgery. My wife works with FedEx, so I will have her pick up payment and arrange shipping for me.

How many Hispanic people use the word "shall"? Another red flag for me.
 
Sad to hear another Garcia scam. These people have made alot in the past month ripping people off.
 
This needs to be pm'd to everyone because that's exactly the same thing that happened to the last guy word for word

How do you feel I should have known better ??? I've never been ripped off like this before this thread should be PM'd to every member with the Guy's name attached Beware that is why I posted it, I don't feel good about nor does it make me feel any better having you tell me I should have known better thanks a lot Louie70dart, Everyone beware .

There is a STICKY in the "Car and Car Parts Wanted" section. Right at the top for anyone posting in that section to see.

It has and was sent via PM or e-mail with a link to the warning in the Wanted section, IIRC.

There have been probably 6-10+ threads about this same person/scam on the board since november

Hate to see people get ripped

Moneygram = RUN LIKE HELL AWAY FROM THE DEAL!

Too man red flags here, and all the classics!! Sorry to hear you got ripped!! Next time YOU take the offense and YOU set the rules, if they can't be met, no deal!!! He's not a seller, he's a sniper and must be met with firepower!! Geof
 
I have received lots of PM's asking if I was still looking for parts, usually they have no post count and are very new members....I never reply to ANY of them! I was ripped off one time here from a member I sent a MO to and it will not happen again.

Sucks to hear this happened....

Me too. Got jacked for 1K on a set of Ede aluminum heads about 10 years ago. Still pisses me off.

I agree somewhat here Louie here Steve. Take this however you want, but you have been a member here for a good stretch(5 years). Why not put the knowledge of the masses (besides the mechanical knowledge) to use here and ask if anyone knows of or can recommend "Garcia" as a seller??

Im guilty that Im on here tons and dont have much of a life, but for someone to be a member as long as you have, and it didnt "feel right", then to continue with transaction??

Doesnt alleviate the fact that Garcia still needs a whoopin.

I agree. Sucks you got ripped off but the only thing he didn't say was send me an extra $50 just incase shipping is more and I will refund the difference. Way to many red flags. I am not a member,sick,deaf,send only a money gram and put it in my wifes name etc..... You should have went with your instincts. When he said he was hearing impaired you should have said that's ok I will talk to your wife but then again he probably would have told you she had throat cancer and could not speak cause of her tracheotomy.......
 
The Wanted section should be taken down. Unfortunately that is where the scammers go to get everyone. I will not post a wanted ad ever.

I don't agree. I just used it and got a lot of real offers. I did get one scammer. But I'm a big boy and used my guts and brains.

I hate seeing people get ripped off, but it happens when not being careful.
