Hi all, to give a little background on what's going on, the wife and I are hoping to within the next year or so sell her 2004 Mustang and get rid of my 02 crapolla (the engine might actually blow by then) and get 2 new/newer cars. Car #1 will be a 2015+ Challenger, we haven't decided exactly which level yet but definitely won't be a V6. We also want to get a good Eco 4 door to run to town, run errands, and drive after the roads have been treated as we'll park the challenger for winter. Car #2 (which will actually be bought first) has been narrowed down to a 2015 3.6 200 or a 13+ Fusion. Unless we decide we'd rather not spend $15k+ on car #2 in which case we might get something else.

Anyway, any 200 owners out there? And what are y'all opinions on the cars? Likes, dislikes, etc.

A 200 is just a really fancy Dart. You can get basically the same car as a 200 (but no V6 option unfortunately) for a lot less $$$ by just getting the Dart. I looked at all of them but decided they were a little too small for me. So I got a '14 Fusion Titanium AWD and am very happy with it at 26K miles. No issues at all.

thanks for keeping it American guys with the consideration of some fine American branded motor cars (200 or the fusion) ......don't support Asian imports or Toyota which is the preferred brand of ISIS

I run a ford bodyshop. The fusions are really good cars. I also repair all the mopars in town because the Chrysler/dodge dealer doesn't have a bodyshop. So I get to repair their vehicles also. I can tell you both cars are nice vehicles.

I have the 200. V6 Every option available. Could not be happier! and can't say enough about it. Funny story.
Son's car had to go to the shop ('03 Grand Am GT). He is not old enough for the rental car so he took my wifes car (2014 200) and she took the rental (2015 Dart 8k miles).
I have heard nothing but her complaining since. She hates the Dart. Stripped down, Noisy, Clunky, Sloppy Shifts, etc. etc. etc.
I drove the Dart once. I will take my '75 over it any day.
I would recommend the 200 for sure. (Oh yeah, we regularly get 33+ mpg with the V6). Couple of guys where I work own Fusions. They are not big fans of them. One had lots of warranty work (still under 9k miles and has been to the shop 6 times) and the other just had to do front spindles/ball joints/tie rod ends to the tune of $1500 and the car only has 42k miles on it.
As they say, just my .02

Actually the 200 is a bit bigger than the dart, more roomy interior, more of a luxury car than the dart and a heck of a lot nicer!!! I suggested the dart as I have seen a few that aren't bad lookin but my wife hates the looks of em.

And I'm definitely NOT getting a Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc. or a chevy for that matter. If it's not a Mopar it'll be a fusion. What if REALLY like to have is a charcoal 2015 200C AWD V6 with the panoramic sunroof and the beige/black leather interior. But, I can give up some options if I have to to keep the price down.

Not sure how you could NOT be happy with nearly 300 hp. Beats the crud outta the 230 coming from the Fusion Titanium.
Oh yeah, take them both for a ride apples to apples (similar trim levels) You will not be impressed with the Ford. The Chrysler on the other hand will put a grin on your face!
Bone stock, ran 15.05 at the track this year with the A/C cranked and the Stereo Screaming AC/DC. Left the V6 Mustang in the rear view.

We bought a 2015 200S v6 FWD back in July of 2014. We have 25K on it now and love it. My only real requirement was the biggest motor I could get and a sport suppension, so I looked at most every available 4 door sedan at the time. In the end we liked the 200 best and I couldn't beat the price.

I will say it is not just an oversized Dart. Might be the same chassis, but it is a much nicer ride. We do have a rattle when the wind is blowing across the car from right to left, but I think it is due to damage from a huge puddle I hit last summer, not a build issue (dealer can't locate it to fix it, but we haven't had it in since we figured out the wind connection). Other than that is is quiet and comfortable. We've also had an issue once with the car not coming out of park, but that might be related to a park rod recall we had done shortly before the issue, and it has never come back. Had the transmission flashed once and it seems to work fine, but I'm not overly critical of it so others might wish it worked better. I do wish the paddle shifters reacted faster, I can't seems to catch 2nd before hitting the rev limiter and it doesn't feel like a stick when I try to pretend. :) But it's not like it is a real sports car, even if it runs hard and handles well, so expecting the paddle shifters to react like a Porsche PDK setup is unrealistic.

I love the v6. Couldn't be more pleased with that. I think the I4 would be disappointing. But just a guess, never drove one.

One thought on the Fusion...I've heard of issues with the DFI since there isn't a fuel spray to clean the back of the intake valves. I guess they carbon up and the only solution is to pull the cylinder head. Maybe they have fixed it, just a thought.

My Mom has a Fusion and loves it, but I really haven't done much more than ride in the back seat once. I will say that entering and exiting the Fusion back seat seems easier, but I don't ride in the back of my 200 either.

I do wish we had gotten some of the higher end options (seat memory and auto unlock on the passenger side door being high on the list), but I love the car.

The last 2 "review" posts sound promising! And yea I'd DEFINITELY want the v6.

Dion, you say they're available with seat memory? That's a HUGE plus seeing how I'm 6'3" and my wife's 5'1"!!! Gettin in her mustang after she drove is a PAIN! I have to reach in and slide the seat back before I can even begin to think about getting in.

Yep, the option is there, but you have to get the "C" with the Premium Group option (I think).

I understand, but isn't as big an issue for me as it sounds like it is for you. I have to slide the seat back to get in, and because it is a power seat I never get it back to exactly where it was the last time. In our old PT Cruiser, it was easy because it was just a notch in the mechanism and it was either right or not. Now it is mostly good, but not easy to match the last time. Power is nice, but there are an infinite number of places to stop when you move the seat.

The option comes with buttons next to the interior door release, but the best part is you can program it to a fob so that the seat will move (and the mirrors and radio presets will change) based on who unlocks the door. You don't even have to push a button, or even get the fob out of your pocket.

My complaint with the auto-unlock door setup is, we only have it on the driver's door. So when I go to open the door for my wife, I have to get the fob out of my pocket to unlock the doors. If I am by myself, I can just walk up to the driver's door and get in, no digging for a fob so I can push a button. I wish I could just walk up to the car on the passenger's side and have it unlock so I can get my wife's door without getting the fob out.

I suspect that I can swap the handle out for one with the sensors, but haven't looked into it. Pretty sure I need the big infotainment screen for the memory controls, but looks like that is a pretty easy swap, but not sure if more than just the buttons and computer are needed after that.

Oh, well, it's fun to drive the way it is, I will worry about that stuff later.

Great... You just caused me to narrow my choice of cars down even more!! :banghead: lol

Have a '13 200 v6 and have to say it's the best car we have ever had. Use it as our daily driver. Bought it at 7km and now has 130km. Only problems were burnt out front turn signal bulb at 108km and pulsing front brakes at 122km. Usually buy one or two year olds and keep then a couple of years but have no plans to get rid of this one. The penta star engine seems good and is well rated, the car is very comfortable.

haven`t driven an all wheel drive fusion. wife has an all wheel mercury. she works at avis rent a car, and we drive a lot of diff. vehicles due to her getting them free, 3 weeks a yr.
we had a 2014 charger for a week, right before the fusion for a week. no comparison, the fusion felt cheap as hell to both of us! jfyi

Buddy at work is driving a fusion because 2013 f150 keeps dying on him.He does not like the fusion at all ford=junk.

are you dead set on something this new?
my winterbeater is an 08 charger AWD
it has the 3.5 V6 and I have had zero issues with it
(coming up on 140K)

Charger could be an option. What kinda mpg do you get with the AWD 3.5? I'd prefer a 3.6 over the 3.5 but that'd mean a '12+ charger, which wouldn't be bad since I like the 11-14 style better anyway. Might have to check into that!!

Only reason I wasn't lookin at chargers is I didn't want a RWD for winter driving. Didn't think about the AWD's

Im honestly not sure about mileage
Never really checked into it
If you gotry a week I can keep track of it for you
