Stop in for a cup of coffee

Any of you guys and Rani have a 4 bbl lower air cleaner plate (flat) to use with the new hood. Old and crusty is fine so I do not have to make it completely from scratch?

Done with snow. Didn't take too long. Joining in, I'm glad I grew up when carbs were in vogue. Heck, when I was at tech school, electronic ignition wasn't invented yet.

Sold a ton of points, condensors, caps and rotors back in the day. Still remember Part numbers. My wife says, I still call out part numbers in my Sleep. Mopar 82-115s, Al 243, Ch51, Ch52, Filko part numbers . LOL

I was right in the middle really - started with a 74 /6 Dart and at one point did have a couple of run ins with FI - prefer to tinker with a carb

I like it! ..wonder if Mr.NeighborDad would be mad at me..
I teach Stan my daughters man toy when I can he is kind of a car guy. All the lessons start with "want a beer"

When I was at the parts store, People used to bring in Holleys and we would rebuild them in the back and they would stop by a couple hours later and pick it up.

Those days are gone. Been to the parts store lately? Just ask for a carb and get the deer with headlights look!!!

No doubt. Just a body with a pulse behind the counter in many cases. Our local NAPA still has some veterans. I usually go there. If I go anywhere else, I look my own up online.

I still have the one off the Firechicken - not sure if it'll help you but I can take a pic of it later for you

I am leaning towards something like this to use.

The good old days  I remember sitting smoking and drinking coffee in the back room of Guy's Auto Parts here back in the late 70'es getting carbs ready for Sundays race, I could not wait for the end of the week to learn some cool stuff in the back room there :color: I have not thought of that in years, thanks Mike :glasses7:

pffffft yea - I start online - find what I need then call around with PN's to see if anyone locally can get for me... learned the hard way to stop going straight to the parts store especially for odd-ball stuff

We had a local one that used to deliver to my house. Had a machine shop in the basement. Had a lot of good times there.

Rock auto has been pretty good to me. Just have to learn how to search it for the weird stuff. Can always get a p/n from the site.

I have much to learn from you guys right here in this thread.

I am not even 30 yet so you have seen many more miles.

Oh, how I wish I had a time machine to see some of what you guys lived.

I've done that myself. What drives me nuts is when I give them there part number and they still insist on asking me what I need it for.. Trust me guy, this part does not fit my car.. Its amazing when you tell them that and then they argue with you about it.. Just give me the part # I asked for... Grrrr

I have four parts houses now that have me on a 30 day charge acct. and will deliver on demand. Even for the little amount I do here in my Mopar shop.

Lately the auto zone just lets me do the search. I am in pretty good with them.

just be glad you are not a female who gets labeled car stupid the minute you walk in the door.

They like to "explain" things about cars which are usually inaccurate and in a "talk down" manner.

Or they want to "help" when its not required, especially with an old car :violent1::violent1:
