That wiper motor is like the cherry on top, looks beautiful! Great work, keep it going!

Next steps:
  • Wire up the engine and lights
  • Wire in the MSD
  • Connect the Wiper linkage to the motor
  • Install the dash
  • then finish up the interior.

Almost done wiring the front side.
New harnesses installed:
  • Engine lights forward
  • Neutral safety
  • Wiper motor
  • MSD ignition
Still have to make the AC compressor/heater blower and neutral safety jumper.

Tell me...which fasteners hold in the voltage regulator and the ballast resistor?

Some more time capsule nostalgia.
I am disassembling the center console for restoration and a ton of change slid out from under the top plate
.
The cool part is that I found quarters ranging from 1967 - 1993. So it's money from pretty much every owner.
All of it is going back into the ash tray along with one of my own. lol

I finished up the center console. Cleaned,buffed,polished and new wood inlay.
It's not a concourse piece by any means but it does look pretty!

Being one who has never touched or seen one in person, is that whole piece from behind the ash tray a door with that big of a compartment? I've only seen pics and never seen one open I guess...Looks FANTASTIC!!! great job and that is an awesome find about the money very cool!

no! it's there's not a lot of space back there at all LoL! I could not believe how much change slipped in there over the years.
 
Took a little break but now its time to get back on the Dart. Mopar performance 2800 # spring vs and bushings. Also going to install the throttle bracket so I picked up longer ARP bolts for the manifold.

I'm also going to install electric oil pressure and temp senders along side of the standard senders. The electric senders are for a gauge pack that will install next to the steering wheel under the dash.

Dropped the 8-3/4 rear . Did it old school. No air or electric. Just hand tools, muscle and Jack stands. Hoo-ahh!
Damn my garage is small! Hopefully I don't do anything stupid getting it outside to clean or when I got to put it back in.
Side by side leafs. Pass on left driver on right.

Got the brake drums turned today and they look great!
Cleaned and painted the third member, shock plates and drums.
While I wait for the brake rebuild kits to arrive I Installed some of the new stainless steel hardware. It's starting to shape up!

Rear is complete. Hardware installed! Leafs are done.
Next install everything back into the car. Then pray to God that non of the 22 brake line connections leak! LoL
Stainless tubes are a pain in the ***!

The garage is holding steady 55-59 which is very comfortable for me.

My TTI H-Pipe exhaust system showed up today. so as soon as the rear gets hung I'm going to work on the hanging that. It's 2.5" with the stock manifold head pipes.
 
Arrived home to find a huge box from TTI next to my door :)

It's the 2.5" H-pipe (#A25MWM6776) system but it had 2 caveats.

  • A-body applications w/ mfd casting #'s 2863553, 3614368 / Auto Trans w/ a 3-section kick-down link: Modification may be required to the lower throttle rod.
  • A-body applications w/ mfd casting # 2863549 / Standard Trans: A 90° oil filter adapter will be required

The 90° degree adapter was a non issue since I had it installed already, But the linkage mods that was a completely different story. You know just as much as I do how expensive these original 340 kick-down setups are and modding them was not something I was interested in. (See mods in image below)

I intend to install the 3 piece linkage so I called the folks at TTI and we came up with the idea of using the drivers head pipe from the 4spd setup. The 4spd head pipe is designed to clear the clutch pedal z-bar which gave us the clearance we needed for the linkage. It does this by dropping a little lower and stepping from 2.24" from the manifold to the bend) to 2.5".

Because I'm using the stock manifolds I am okay with the trade-off.

Just chipping away. I can't believe its been 3 years and 3 months already.

It happens. I keep thinkin I am gettin nowhere on my rat truck, but then I go through all my progress pictures and realize just how far I have come.

It's been a great journey so far :)

I pulled brake fluid through the lines with a mity vac. Now I'm going to add pressure. Fingers crossed I got those fittings right.
 
Brakes are good. No leaks!

Installed the heater hose and now I can put fluids in.
Just have to install the battery cables and dash.

Getting closer to fire.

I see you had a former AC car with that valve on the passenger side of the inner fender. I was worried about the ugliness of putting that valve back in my car (sans AC), but your set up gives me hope that it can still be done cleanly.
