1973 Gold Duster-Slant 6 -Retirement Gift to Self

-
Thanks. It's getting close.

I scored a coolant reserve tank from Doug (Dartn440). It is gonna fit great. My original Gold Duster in 73 just had the overflow tube and so did this one. I checked the 73/74 parts diagram and sure enough the reserve tank was available in 73. This is a great addition. Still pushing to have the car at Mopars at the Rock. The door panels have been dyed. Just need the dash, headliner, and package tray done.

I was at the shop yesterday to take pictures of the paint/body craftsmen. They turned the engine over. That rebuilt /6 sounded great. The previous owner had put a dual exhaust on and it jusr sounded great.

yes I love it too! great job. very pretty color combos. congrats on keeping the slant.

like a fellow FABO member mentioned the other day. he needs to keep up with traffic....NOT run 190 mph !!!!!!!!

Well 10 months past my retirement and 2 years from start, but here she is. 1973 Gold Duster.

The motor is completely rebuilt original slant 225, with sleeves and hardened valve seats. New water pump, upgraded alternator and remanufactured carburetor. Air conditioner is new Classic Auto Air to go with the factory dash.

All interior parts are original, but freshly dyed. Seat are Legendary. AM radio works with dash speaker, but the kick panel and package tray speakers are driven by a glove box hidden Alpine BT/Sirius system.

Not obvious from the photos are the completely upgraded front and rear suspensions, with a front disc brake conversion. Wheels are now 15" Wheel Vintique ralleys with trim rings.

If there is any other picture you would like me to post, fire away.

Full disclosure... my involvement was limited to writing checks and having fun finding parts.
