gas monkey v street outlaws

that crow mod isnt streetable, guaranteed not one of their cars is registered with a plate. If they are so streetable why do they have to trailer it to do a test hit?

Just because you could doesn't mean you should. I said streetable, not daily drivers.

There's many reasons to trailer your car to a test spot, once you reach a certain level of power and speed. The main reason for these guys is it's just more practical. They could load some of their tools and spare parts and fluids into the trunk, unload it to the side of the road, test hit, adjust, test hit, , adjust, test hit, load it all up again....but since they own a fully equipped trailer and truck to haul it, why would they? They have nothing to prove.

Trailering fast street race cars to a spot to test or race has been going on for decades - it's part of the scene and anyone that's been street racing for awhile doesn't give anyone flak over it.

So if someone pulls a top fuel dragster out on the street its street able? Really? Street able means legal or able to actually be registered

Pretty sure that Le Mans was registered - it was his high school car. Talking about the first Crow in the video I linked...the one in the show tonight was a real GTO race body with a vin tag that he bought and rebuilt.

To me it does, I agree. I have a friend who has a Fox body Mustang that has run a best of 8.03 and he drives it on the street. It's licensed, tagged and insured. All the lights work. It's a hoot though.

Exactly!!!

I would rollback or trailer my car to the spots and do what I needed to get done. Lot easier if something breaks or the police showed up to have it on a trailer where they couldn't do anything.

I regularly drove my 9.40-145mph car 5 miles to work in the early-mid 80's... 14x32's and all! :) Plates, insurance and all. Local PD didn't care as long as I was mellow. Had plenty of people rev it up next to me, I just laughed.

Both those shows Are almost entirley scripted. But it was still Nice seeing Richard lose. He is not a real car guy, just a Vain Poser.

boy was that a stupid show.. all a bunch of clowns if ya ask me., laughing their way to the bank i guess.

Who really gives a darn? It's all a bunch of scripted fakery anyway.
agree w/ rustys statement. these shows are just drama, much like the news media stating their opinions, instead of the facts. the fastest car didn`t win. they didn`t follow the rules to start with, and they couldn`t hook it up anyway. I new that they couldn`t hook it up when they were building it. turbos don`t put down instant "BIG' POWER" like a blower, and are a little easier to make hook.

I have in the past, trailered my fully streetable "chevys" to the track, in case they were to break. And, have had to have someone take me home to hook up my trailer and go retrieve it. But , most of their cars are far from streetable.

I must say I do watch it,,,,AND pick it apart. But you know what ? Good for those guys(NOT *** monkeys)but the Street Outlaws.I hope the network is paying them tons of money.Along with the sponsor's. Hell I'd wear a T shirt for 20K.Yes it is "Sports Entertainment"..
Those guys weren`t sh--, before the tv money. Just go back to picks all out.

All good man, honestly i used to only watch street outlaws for farm truck and azn
farm trucks a joke. put a 632 custom built and bought motor, and add nitrous in anything and it will run. they have as much $ in that store bought motor as most of us do in two of our cars !

I know its all not real but still was funny to see them mess around, especially with that nitrous chair lmao. Exactly, i get tired of the drama, only good episode was the 1st one. After that it was all drama, thats why i just watch 1320 video on YouTube. No BS or drama

It's entertainment. They just happen to drag race cars. The difference between a 1/8 & 1/4 mile cars are gearing. They like the 1/8th mile as it's not as easy to find a street with a good 1/4 mile area to race. Yes there are "staged" parts of the show. But the racing is real and their cars are really fast. If it wasn't entertaining then so many here would let it go and just ignore it. As for *** Monkey Garage I have never liked Richard Rollins so I don't watch it. Personally I think he is the type of person that has made our hobby so expensive.

Wrestling is fake, everyone knows it ( I think). But it is still popular, now days more than ever. It's just entertainment folks, accept it as such.

4.33 is 6.80s in the 1/4...and they've all run 1/4 mile and will gear the cars for it when they need to.

And turbo cars are extremely streetable

My cars so shitty the dash doesn't even stay in place, no helmet not wearing a harness, yeah i dont want to be around to watch my kids grow up, if he would of lost control there and hit a tree or pole he would of been in bad shape

Reality, here..... We do have a couple magazine article cars locally, that can run low 10's , mid 9's on the street. They don't showboat, just keeping an even keel works wonders.

I watch it for entertainment. I like comedy, like when Richard and his fugly wife thought they won because they ran a slightly quicker e.t., it's called a holeshot *** monkey. and it is a drama, but I do not care how much money the 2 drivers got paid, they both tried as hard as they could to win

That was funny when Richtard didn't know they had lost the race... that took ANY modicum of creditably he might have had and dumped it straight in the trash - done. How long have you been financing race cars and showing up to NHRA events to cheer on YOUR team - and you don't know what a holeshot win is!!??? Holy crap man - :BangHead: :wtf: - wow, just wow.

I would like to see how bad *** chief is in a real fist fight. He seems to have an anger problem when confrontation slightly produces itself. Big mouth, but can he throw down for real?????

i just love how big chief and murder nova always act like theyre just some poor old stupid street racers throwing "junk" together it would be better to me if theyd just admit they have a lot of money in these cars, oh and get rid of the fake *** sound effects in street outlaws, that fake tire squeal just drives me nuts lol other than that its fun to watch some drag racing on tv where the cars look somewhat like real street cars
Same with the fake MPH meter
