I need some help with an upper radiator hose. Maybe someone can save me a lot of time here. I have changed radiators in the Duster. I am running a 440 in a 76 Duster. Both upper and lower hoses are on the passenger side of the old radiator. I ordered a new aluminum Champion one that is coming in today and the upper hose will be on the driver side and the lower on the pass. side. Is anyone running a BB in an a body that can give me a part # of an upper radiator hose that will work on the driver side so I can get this. I hate to have to go to the parts house and order a bunch of hoses in and they don't usually carry much in stock for these old cars anymore. I looked at a 70 Duster with a 340 and it may be the one but not sure. any help would be appreciated.

Siliconeintakes.com

Order the stainless which you bend to your liking along with the proper silicone adapters.

Order just what you need unlike buying a kit with pieces you don't need

They have great customer service too

Thanks, will check it out. Was hoping to get something local as time is a problem.

Dayco #71281 or whatever it cross references to might work for you. You may have to trim part of it off.

And if that doesn't work try Gates #21511

Oh wait, I'm sorry I miss-read your post. Those part numbers are for the upper port to be on the passenger side.
The driver's side upper port should be more common. A stock 73 Dart 318 upper radiator hose might work for you.

Yeah, that number is a Gates 20602 for the 318 on a 73 Dart. I also have a 73 Dart Sport with a 360 in it. I looked at it and I think that one will work. That is the # I ordered. It will be here in the morning. Will see if it works. Thanks.

Whatever hose you wind up purchasing, just make sure it's not one of those universal flexible radiator hoses.

Goodyear 60662 is a factory 383/440 not sure just how far the inlet is to the left on your new radiator but it may work for you.

Sorry, didn't read through.:BangHead: I was working off the post #4 recommendation as it rang the bell and I had a picture of mine with that hose.

I have one on there. Not exactly what I wanted but will work for now. It is the gates 20602. It isn't kinked anywhere but has that curve in it. will keep looking.

Hard to tell from your picture. How close are you with that fan-radiator clearance? Are you using solid mounts? A hard stop can sway an engine/trans forward a bit. MP recommends 3/4".

BTW, when I went Farm and Fleet to look for my upper I brought an old hose to try and match as the are hung on racks. Some automotive stores will let you rummage through theirs if you ask.

Using Schumacher mounts. I have a good 1-11/2 " between them.

I figure I'll post this in this thread...
I'm having similar problems to OP. I have a 383 in a '70 Duster and I just installed a new 26" radiator. The problem is that the lower hose that was on the previous radiator (which was aftermarket but had no stamps or markings to identify the manufacturer) is now leaking while on the new radiator. There are no markings or part numbers on the lower hose either. I don't have any cool parts stores around by me that will let me rummage through their inventory of hoses in hopes of finding a match, so I figured I'd ask you fine folks. Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated...and don't worry - I would never even think of putting one of those universal pieces of garbage on my vehicle!
