1968 Dodge Dart

I’ve owned this car for 17 years and I’m finally getting to it. Started life as a GT with a slant 6, auto. My plan is to turn it into a GTS with a 340, Hilborn Fuel injection converted to EFI, Passon 5 speed, 410 Dana, HDK front suspension, power brakes, power steering, A/C and maybe power windows. I’m thinking single stage original red color. This car was in Bodyshop Hell for 6 years and then picked up and tucked away for a few more. Now it has my full attention. This is how she looked when I bought her. A rusted turd!

This is how it looked when I Took it back from the Bodyshop.

Was pretty much rust free but not ready for paint like I was told. Also, it Was painted with black lacquer

So, I started over and had it soda blasted.

Then it went to a local guy here in Pittsburgh and 4000.00 later it looked like this

At this point it was ready for final blocking and primer then paint but I wanted to put the car together before I had it painted. So mock up begins

Today I figured out how to get the Gas pedal cable run. I made a bracket ( I channeled Ross, 76orange wagon) and after 3 brackets I think I got it right!

So that is where I'm at. I only get a few hours a week to work on it so updates will be slow.

Looks like a lot of good progress Brother Mark! Glad to see that Tod is helping out with the EFI wiring.
There should be quite a few new cars showing up this summer if they all get done. Your Dart, Curtis's 69 440 Dart, Ross's 340 Cuda, Woody's Duster, Mike's 392 Gen III Cuda convertible, the Flash Duster, Vance's Rod Shop Dart and I'm sure a few more.

Very cool Mark! I've been waiting to see this build since you told me about it when i bought the 8 3/4 from you in the spring. looks like you made enough room to fit those huge wheels and tires you wanted to run lol
