I am putting together my 76 Dart and will need a new set of tires, planning on going 245 60 R14 which is what I can get down here in Brazil.

I am sure in the US I'd go BFG but due to the over sized cost down here I'd like to hear if anyone could tell which would be better, if any, all 245 60 R14

Galaxy Vitour R1 Radial GT US$ 140.00 each
Hankook Dynamic RA03 US$ 150.00 each
BFG Radial TA US$ 487.00 each
Cooper Cobra Radial US$ 342.00 each

I'd go for the Cooper Cobra for it's look first then the BFG.

Among the Galaxy Vitour and the Hankook, which is within a reasonable price range, I like the Galaxy Vitour look better (footprint design) but I know the Hankook must be a better tire.

I want reliability and a beefier look and a large footprint.

Any input from tire experts would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know about ur location, or small tires, but everytime I get a car or ruck, the first thing I do when the orig tires wear out, is get away from goodyear tires, and put hankooks on them, they ride noticebly better !! Especially on my dodge and ram trucks.
I have a pair on the front of my 68 fastback too.

Thank you much Bob.
I have used tires made in Brazil all my life and must tell, they are good, we have good year pirelli and a number of other manufacturers here but for the 14" rim which is what I have here the wider available is 185 70 R14 for smaller cars. I do not trust China tires because they are so cheap and sell so exp[ensive here, they send all the bad batches to countries like Brazil,
I have heard good from Hankook tires and I think I`d go for that then.
Cheers.

I have been very satisfied w/ mine, I even bought a used pair of 20" hannkooks for my ex 2002 dodge quadcab , and had them switched out to get rid of the goodyears on the 2014 ram that I trade for.

Yes, sometimes we just need to be lucky with parts. The only thing I dislike from that hankook is the 3 channel design, which should be 4, but I guess that is the best option I have here now, thx.

3 channel ??

Sorry, I meant grooves... see picture...

the 3 grove would have more rubber on the ground, maybe not the best in rain. Just went and looked mine have 4 !!

Yes, I bought that 3 groove Hankook over the web for a total of US$ 640.00, still waiting for delivery, sure like to have a 4 or 5 groove on a 245 tire, let's see how it does, thanks for your input and have a great new year!!

Decided to go Hankook for the price... US$ 180.00 each... they look pretty solid tires, even have a rib on the side where it could rub at the inner fender lips...
