Finally at the body shop!

The 67 Dart has FINALLY made it to the body shop. She’s been soda blasted and no extra rust uncovered. Thought I would share this pic as evidence of how helpful this forum is. Both my doors have rust issues so put out an SOS months back in the WANTED forum and got a great response and deal from MOPAR TONY WHITEPUNK. Shipped fast and packed well. They stripped one of those doors down today and its just about perfect. Just one example of the help this novice has received from FABO. Thanks as always!

Tony is a great guy. I have bought many parts from him and he is always on time and very helpful. I have been working on my 66 dart for 2 1/2 years and still not done. Good luck on yours..

A few pics from the body shop today. They allow you to come in and join in the work process. Saves you money and you get to learn stuff. Dropped the gas tank, pulled the rear window, stainless, yanked the seats and pulled off both fenders. Inner fenders look solid! Couple pics of the lead panel seams in various spots......

How did they remove the paint?
Amazing how talanted the body guys were back in the day. I have seen lead being applied in videos, doubt anyone could do it today and it lasts forever.

It was soda-blasted.
I would like to see a video of how they applied the lead on the asssembly lines. I’m told that right after WW2 that you see less lead due to the panel tolerance skills workers learned building war aircraft. Tolerances got worse again mid fifties due to the economic expansion and the huge need for cars caused more unskilled workers to join the workforce. Interesting stuff.
