I finally scored a hood mounted tachometer from a guy not far from me, was thinking about possibly putting it on my 74 Satellite, but after setting it on my 66 I kinda like how it looks. Need to paint it and would probably go black....what do you think? My car has the early 70’s street vibe going on already so it’s at home. I know I’ll have to cut a hole in my hood and this hood is already cut...but once I slap it on then I have to leave it. I do like how I can see the tach easy, where I have it now I have to look away a little to see it.

They were offered in the parts department and dealer installed....Were they not. I know they were popular on Pontiac, still looks great.

There’s no pure in that car. Go for it if you like it. I do. I am in the process of acquiring one myself.
Just because!

I vote yes. It looks good and matches the style of your car.

Yes, MoPar sold a few different ones through their Hustle Stuff line, also some came through with Chrysler parts logo or a pentastar on them....here are some pictures

I have a repop also, different style face but both faces were used by Chrysler, just missing the logo...which I have a stick pin I was thinking of using the top for that. (See Last picture)

Go for it. But two things. Use double sided tape to attach it and use some conduit coming between the cowl and hood. That way you don't drill any holes anywhere and if you decide you don't like it, you don't have anything permanent to repair.

Thats RustyRatRod’s line lol

It seems body color makes for a more seamless installation. I am considering the same hood mounted tach, while holding out while still trying to figure out using a "heads up display" option instead.

Don't like it on an early A. I have always like your car the way it sits, one of my favorite cars on the site. 70 Dart, 72 Demon, 74 Dart Sport, ok. Your car, not so much.
