Electric or mech fan?

IIRC the pushers "get in the way" under speed. Probably would do better without it.

If it takes too long for it the temps to come down out on the hi way , it might be blocking the airflow , I have a 14'' pusher , mounted as far in front of the rad. as I can on mine/comes on at 220 , 'hasnt come on this summer'' . I also bought an 18''/7 blade fan to replace the 17''/6 blade on it now . I had to make a jig of sorts to trim the 18 to 17 3/4 for fitment purposes , but havent tried it yet. Most of the info I posted came from a couple of guys here on fabo , it took all of it to make my rig work , and I`m sure urs will be putting out more h.p. and heat than mine ---------.
Looks like u have about the same room as mine , on the pump clearance, 440`s and hemi`s are the same length as far as I know , I have about 1/2'' clearance to my 28x19 crossflow rad. if I remember right its around 3'' thick .
Keep us informed on that hemi , AINT NOTHIN FINER !

Yes but there's only one Abby's Pizza on Stark... So it wasn't to hard to find was it?.... LOL...
That's what google is for isn't it? I used to work out there. Trained at the fire station @ 192nd and Halsey and then 4 years later was back and worked a training cycle. Guess I didn't do well enough the first time.

I’m going with an 18” 6-blade mech fan because I could get one this week. I’d like to get the 7-blade version, but do you know if that 7-blade really pulls that much more air? Is it worth changing to it over the winter (Ex.)?

Yes the seven blade moves considerable more air.
To make room for the seventh blade they also have a deeper pitch.
Go direct drive the clutches dont really work that well

I have been wondering the same thing about the 6 versus 7 blade deal, finally got a decent one to try if I need to.
The full belt driven mech fan is about 8ish degrees better on my rig, as I said earlier , but I `m trying to get this thing to run like I think it should---guess I`m remembering the old hemi car too much !--------lol

Ok...7 blade it is!!
Be prepared for more fan noise without a clutch.
But the benefits are more air for cooling and more distance from the radiator for proper spacing in the shroud.
I dont believe you will miss a few HP.

I can't believe the noise level would be greater than the motor, or at a level as to become a nuisance? Not worried about Hp, this is a cruz night car anyways, with the motor detuned down to 740hp for streetability I can afford to lose a couple..lol.

My biggest concern right now is cooling. Having spent three years building this car, and being done with the build for the last two months, I still haven't really had a good first problem free drive with the car due to heating issues. I'm in the process of switching the pulleys/belts to create as much room as possible for a puller fan - mech now in this case. This is the one issue I've had - no room between the water pump and the radiator. The only thing I care about now it the ability to cool, and if that means putting up with some noise then for now I'm fine with that. I'll know next week if I have this addressed, and confidence is pretty high that this new set up will work, but you never know until you know.
