318 WITH CHEVY DISTRIBUTOR

One of the dist cap hold down screws hits a part of the intake manifold, limiting rotation. I will need to trim that part of the manifold, to allow free movement. Otherwise, it works great. This one also has an adjustable advance curve, you can adjust externally.

Is it just hitting a coil mount boss or something like that? Do you know the maximum advance you can put in before the distributor hits?

We made a bushing that allowed us to run a small block Buick hei distributor in a 318... took a little work but wasn’t bad...

Hitting some kind of mount boss there. I'll get the car in my garage on Thurs, throw the timing light on there, and see what we have for max advance.

The 318 won't run without the choke mostly closed. It sat for 4 years, so the Eddy carb idle circuits are prob plugged up. Plus it wont crank with the key, so I have a little work to do before I can fix the dist.
