Battery Tray Mounting

I never got a picture of the battery tray before I tore down my 1970 Duster.

What is the big square hole for on the inner fender? Small round hole is for the battery tray mounting bolt, but not sure about the square cut out.

I believe it allows the U shaped speed nut to slide on That allows the 5/16 bolt to tighten the tray down. It also requires a brace below the tray. Do you have that?

SGBARRACUDA, I see what you mean. The J nut needs some flat real estate to clip on to. Is the brace you mentioned the one in the pic, towards where the engine will be?

moparmat2000, I see that the hole closer to the rad in the battery tray has a bit of a taper to it, allowing moisture to escape.
