Now I know some people including me can't do everything to build there car but what have you done to your classic that your proud of and willing to share, and pictures would be nice.
Damn that's gorgeous. A few more pictures please.View attachment 1715721430 Hanging on to it for 48 years!
During Covid, I decided to restore everything under the hood on my Duster. I removed everything- master cylinder and booster, intake and exhaust manifolds, radiator, A/C ect. I then cleaned and sanded the compartment and painted the engine compartment and block. I painted the accessories added headers and a aluminum intake with some minor customizing on the linkage. Also some chrome touches. The video show all the under hood work. Did some additional work also.
Hey Demonracer was wondering what was under to hood of the bad boy.My greatest achievement was getting it in the 10's before I dropped a valve. OOPS!!!
Alaskan_TA you didn't post any pictures of your cars and would love to see them.Driving each one - on the same day.
Ooh ooh I think I know because I follow his posts and it's one of my personal favorites I think he runs 373. and I for one would like to hear more details!Hey Demonracer was wondering what was under to hood of the bad boy.
Nice....Any mods needed to get the hood clearance for the six pack?Well that's a tough act to follow but I'll give it a shot, the two things that stand out over the last few years is finally saving up enough money to have the body work done after owning the car for over 40 years. It is a factory coded sublime car and second was the addition of my six pack and getting it tuned in to its current sassy state.

Knowing you yes detail is your middle name. lolFor me, it’s probably the engine bay detail. I tried to pay close attention to getting everything to look well. Probably more that I will do, like everyone here...the project never ends.

Nice work you get an A+ from me.On my A-body Duster? I re-did engine. 451 with new pistons and rods (Replaced stock rods with BME aluminum. Same Ross piston. ) Upgraded heavily ported 452 heads with B1/BS aluminum heads. (Got tired of welding the old irons every time it sprang a leak.) Upgraded 880 CFM Holley with 1050 Holley (Still 4150 style) metered for E-85 fuel. (To accommodate the increase in compression due to going from open chamber 452 head to tighter closed chamber Brodex B1.)
Duster runs .6 seconds faster. From high 10s to low 10s. (With very similar solid lift cam and profile.) If engine holds together for 2-3 seasons? (About 100 runs) Then I rate my job a B+.
No real clearance issues the sixpac air cleaner assembly is a drop-down style, I did have to notch the back to clear the wiper motor. Measuring with clay with the hood latched I have about 3/4 of an inch clearance.Nice....Any mods needed to get the hood clearance for the six pack?
Thanks. But I'm fighting with timing more. (I'm sure it's the fuel difference.) E-85 wants more advanced timing. (Especially at idle) But getting some popping at the top end. I know MANY have seen this. Especially as builds increase in power. But still struggling to find the sweet spot. I'm wondering if I should have set valve timing more advanced? I may try MSD module that's supposed to be able to take a little timing out as RPM increases. (It won't turn ones setup to a variable timing. But this delay module is said to help?)Nice work you get an A+ from me.
I'm not much on engine builds but would guess if you got it dialed in right you could shave some good time at the track.Thanks. But I'm fighting with timing more. (I'm sure it's the fuel difference.) There's some interesting info around here on plumbing in a vac advance below the throttle plates to get the extra advance at idle without kicking the starter. When you lay on it, the vac advance falls off to help the top end. Just a thought...Who knows? Thanks. But I'm fighting with timing more. (I'm sure it's the fuel difference.) Yea but you did it and a sweet ride for sure. Good job my friend. For me it was figuring out how to get a 6.1 Gen three Hemi in my 72 Demon. Took me to the ragged edge of my abilities and patience. Then kicked me over the edge!
