I been looking at the 2021 - 2022 Ford Broncos. Not the escape style Car SUV thing, but the Bronco with the full frame based on the ranger frame. It comes with Dana 44s with optional electronic lockers.

The base engine is a 2.3L ecoboost. That's the only one you can get with a standard shift. which also comes with a granny low. It has removable doors and top. A quick removable soft top is available. As well as quick removable fenders, quarters and such in case you want to go off road and not screw up your panels.

I know some are going to say, just buy a jeep. I do love Chrysler products, but if I see another jeep with the "angry eyes grille I'm gonna vomit. I never cared for jeeps even in the 70s, 80s, 90s. I really like the proportions of the 2 door Bronco, and I always loved the 64-77 square body ones that this is designed to look like

I dont need any fancy big wheels from the factory, or any other gee gaws save for the electronic lockers, and maybe add more aggressive tires on the stock steelies when the originals wear out. I want the dark charcoal interior (black) black top, and not 100% sure on the color but I am partial to blue.

Dont need a truck as my 94 silverado still runs great, and is a useful tool for running to the home improvement stores or machine shop to pick up or drop off blocks, cranks etc. Dont need a muscle car either since i have 2 barracudas, and a mustang GT, so that base is covered. My daily driver 2008 Chevy HHR i bought new has about 2 more years life left in it, I figure by then I will have had this thing 15 years, and the hubbub over the bronco will have died down a little and I can special order one.

I'm not a car snob like I used to be unless it's a foreign job. I can't do Japanese or Korean stuff. It's just waaay too bizarre looking for me. I buy a lot on looks, price, and what fits my needs. I love old skool looks since it's what sets right with me. Let the flaming and hating begin

this is amazing, my best friends kid was just talking about these things yesterday and I poo pooed on his parade and told him what a millennial p***y he is
in my defense he was talking about buying the full tilt Bronco that any girl can drive not the cool one with the honkin 2.3L Ecoboost:wtf: :poke::poke:

Lilfontleroy I cant get the Getrag 6 speed manual with granny low and a clutch with the V6. Maybe that will change by 2023. Who knows. I dont really need a V6 either. I am not big into off roading, however we do get high water, and pretty bad winter storms in west Texas. Seems crazy but this last february was a doozie. I want something with a truck ladder type frame, locking diffs and truck axles, I love the idea of the removable doors and top, but not a jeep fan. This is not a jeep. This will be a daily driver for me. If dodge came out with a 2 door ramcharger based on a 1500 4x4, I would probably have headed that direction. But I doubt they are going to do that since they have 4 door and 2 door jeeps and this would take away those sales.

just honkin ya  you did say let the flaming begin

They're really cool lookin. They did a great job connecting the look with the first generation. I like them. But I'll say this. If you're gettin one to really go off road, look up the comparisons they did with the Jeep. The Jeep kicked its *** off road. I still like um though.

Yeah I did. Anything's gotta be better than a 2008 chevy HHR LS wagon with a 5 speed stick shift that's full of large hail dents. Looks like a demented golf ball. Runs good, but shes getting tired. Screaming deal I payed $13,815 out the door new because it was a stick. Nobody wanted it. When it hits 15 years old it will have close to 200k on the odometer. That ecotec 2.2 will be shot.

If you're not gettin it to go off road, take a look at the new little Maverick truck. I think Kitty and I may look at those when they arrive.

Rusty, everythings flat out here. I looking at it from the winter time needs, and springtime flooding we experience since theres no storm drains, and the streets are crowned as they are the storm drains, I have seen flooded cars in streets. I know which streets to avoid with a gully washer, but I figure ground clearance, and locking diffs I can deal with the snow, and the street flooding. The pic below is nothing compared to some of what we get, and this was 1 foot deep.

I like the idea of the removable doors and top since we get a lot of nice spring and fall days before the weather changes. I checked out the maverick and think it's a great idea as well. Just dont think it's for me. The nice thing about the Bronco doors are the windows dont have a frame, so when the top is off, or the front panels are removed, theres no window frame in the way.

was watching one the other dqauy, still not a ford fan --------jm2cents

A guy I work with is things Ford and it's on his radar. He wants to have some new technology and old school functionality and this appears to be the only SUV in the marketplace or so according to him. I thought he said there is a massive back order for them as well...

Every one they will build this year has a deposit on it. Now hopefully they wont **** it up like

That tells you right there Ford is about to make bank on the design. Good for them.... If it's legit the Blazer and Ramcharger will be right around the corner....

Every one they will build for 2021 already have deposits on them. now hopefully they wont change it like they did with the mustang. 2005-2009 were really nice, then they effed it up.

Yes a real blazer. Not this stupid car thing they are selling. I doubt dodge will do a ramcharger. It would take away from jeep gladiator sales, but then again a ramcharger buyer isnt necessarily a jeep buyer. GM says they will be all electric by 2035. Well we will see how that goes. Apparently dodge is making an AWD electric muscle car that will come out in 2024. I dunno about that. Part of a muscle cars appeal is the growl from a V8.

Two different animals IMO.... You can bet they are watching. Wait a minute, they are working on it. Guaranteed...

I used to own a 87 Bronco and loved the look of that truck
And the way it handled

But even with the 351, it was a slouch and I just couldn't rely on the truck

Which is too bad, because I liked the truck but I needed it to be dependable

Now, having owned that one, I thought for sure I'd hate the new one (you guys know how that goes) but I came across one the other day, somewhere decked out, and it looked pretty good

Not as big a miss as the blazer for sure

Yeah those really looked like a Rustang. After 09, they musta let a woman redesign it, like they did at GM with the Corvette.

That's not the truck's fault. I remember that truck. That was your fault, because you could never get it to run right.

I think I'd be moving.

Matt, I don't know much about the Bronco. But, I have the 2.7 Eco Boost in my F150 and it's a great engine. I had a Jeep Wrangler. I'd never own another one of those.

And if I had used bailing wire and duct tape, I would gladly take the blame
But I didn't cut any corners with that truck and even had the engine rebuild by a reputable shop

In all honesty, it was originally and efi truck and the PO swapped in a 70s Era carburetor 351

I'm starting to think the problem may have originated there

It was a tuning issue.

i just have to ask...why wouldn't you consider Toyota? Aren't they made in Texas?
