Kinda new to this hobby, rebuilding a 273 2 barrel engine in a 67 Dart. Having trouble finding a stock cam with solid (mechanical) lifters for my rebuild, so considering a slightly hopped up cam kit with hydraulic lifters. I'm considering a Comp Cam, 252/252 duration, 425/425 lift. My question is will I need to do any modifications to the heads (pushrods, valve springs, etc) or will they accommodate the new set up? Any suggestions are welcome.

Welcome Gordon,
If you do a search for an Isky E3 cam you will see a few comments on cams. @toolmanmike has a video of his isky and it sounds like a great cam for the 273.

I use Isky ,Schneider and Engle, for the lil 273 & 318's exclusively. If I want high lift & efficiency, Engle 100%. Chris at Engle is very helpful and cool to work with.

I have a E4. The E3 is a bit rougher if you are after that.

I think Schneider has a mild solid for small blocks. Lumpier than a Isky E4 though.

Also recommend Isky cams. Tight LSA cams for years, ahead of the curve.

My catalog shows E-4, but not E-3.

Sorry - dont know how to send link
Go on ebay search Dodge 273 camshafts and that will pop up

Easy on a pc or laptop with a mouse. Tougher on your phone or a damn tablet.

Horting up some essentials may not be a bad idea who knows how long this shortage will last !
I have a few new camshafts and lifters soaking in oil to preserve them until the day they are needed plus a few sets of Rockets nice LA rocker shafts preserved .

That cam listed on e bay is a mystery cam. A hydraulic cam for a 360 or what ever. No specs. I wouldn't put it in my lawn mower.

I do not think that is a sol lifter cam. It is a hyd cam, a generic cam, sold by a few companies. Summit has it #SUM-6900.
