Swinging for Divorce…

I know it’s a pain it the butt, but Powdercoat can be recoated with Powdercoat.

But I would have to take it to the paint shop again and pay for it to be done again… honestly you can’t tell now after painting and blending it in.

It will 100% be good enough for the girls I go with.

Almost lined up perfectly… it is hot and humid this week and coming up weekend. I have a 5 day weekend but with 95+ degree weather with 65+ percent humidity I’m not sure how much I will get done this weekend.

Doc you need what they call in Texas is a BIG *** FAN!! Heat index here was 118-120

Well if I get a shop I’ll do a mini split. Right now I just am using two el cheapo fans.

Isn’t this the prettiest steering column you ever seen… steering coupler is all rebuilt. Now just have to add the collar and turn signal switch. Oh I also gotta paint the coupler and the little plastic piece that holds the wires down on the column.

Dash is all done except for the little things like adding radio, harness, cardboard glovebox. Don’t want to add that stuff until later on when it get closer to install time. Worried that it might get scratched or messed up.

Right now dash has 194 incandescent lights in it… I already ordered some LED dash lights, in ice blue and in white. We will see which work best and look best.

YES that is beautiful!!!!!

LED lights??? Ha you are a young un!!!! :poke: :poke: :poke: :steering: :confederateflag:

LED headlights made driving at night a lot less of a scarier than **** experience…

This one I bet the dash lights being bright will be a sight for sore eyes.

I also won’t have to strain to see what speed I’m going which will give me more time to look at the road and not hit a deer.

Who has a working speedometer? A tack works for me. Speed limit? Texas law passes me when I'm doing 90! In the country of course!

some led bulbs won't play nice with a dimmer switch so make sure yours are either compatible or else not too bright.
neil.

Most things I read says you have to have at least 1 incandescent bulb for the dimmer to still work.

Dash done. Steering column done…. Only 3 months to long. I have to touch up some spots on the column, but no biggie. Need a new steering wheel and horn button as well.

My neighbor just put a 5 speed in his mustang… makes me jealous and want to do something dumb… I mean… I already have an automatic

So I had a couple of small scratches in the steering column and a scuff in the ash tray in the dash. Well tried to fix them. It looks worse now. Get these fun wrinkles. :BangHead:

From what I read it’s either the top coat drying to fast due to painting it to thick, or it’s from the humidity.

I’ll let this dry, then light sand and spray a small top coat.

You need a new project? Feel free to cmon' over! I have enough projects to keep you busy for several lifetimes. :):):)

Oh I have enough projects here that I need to do. I want this damn car to be done.
How’s that coronet wagon? I want to see some pictures lol.

Well, normally I wouldn't muck up your Dart thread with Coronet photos, but since you asked...

The wagon is a beauty, rides like a Cadillac and is in pristine shape. It's getting the make-it-road-worthy workover at the moment but basically it's a put gas in it and go vehicle. Here it is with its new shoes.

This thing is amazing, a total shaggin wagon. Mind if I ask what one of those bad boys cost?

you need to black out the windows and slam the suspension to the ground. It would look sweet.

No projects on this turd. No space…. For a little bit longer…. We close on that house the 1st week of August, I’ll probably start moving some of this junk over there the next couple of weeks.

Once I have more space it will be much easier to do the brake system and suspension. Also need to cut a hole in the floor pan to add transmission.

The purple car got an interior treatment.

Each car has its own shop??? That's an incredible spread you got there.

The shop behind the bush is a little smaller but tall enough ceilings to install a lift. It’s also insulated, has an exhaust fan on it and is plumbed for an ac unit. The shop closer in that picture is much bigger but the A-Frame hangs down a little lower and I don’t think will allow for a lift.

I won’t be getting any lifts any time soon anyways since the wife wants to do a bunch of remodeling on the inside of the house first.

Your new house gonna have its own bridge? Sweet shop how exciting good for you and the family buddy.

Haha no bridge, but that’s on the way to the house. The house is on 20 acres though. One of the old owners set up a pistol range on it and all of the metal plates and gongs are supposed to still be there.
