What say ye? I bought a 440 and 727 but think I got the small block trans

BB over small block bell housing features to look for:
Starter is higher
no 7/16" bolt holes down below block level, just 4 1/4-20 for dust cover
Pass side is round, not flat like this one

First thing I always look for is the Big block has four 1/4-20 bolts at the bottom area of the bell housing to attach the cover...
A small block trans will have two 1/4-20 bolts holt & two 7/16-14 bolt holes for the engine to trans braces...
 
Bb and sb can have 3 or 4 front clutch drums. 3 or 4 planetaries. Other changes is spline size. 65-75 then in 76 up they had a slightly bigger output spline size. 71 up also had a wider front drum bushing. Also 71 had the controlled load front servo. Kim
