New to the forum, just wanted to say Hi. My name is Cayden and I’m new to owning a mopar especially my A body and I am loving it. I own a 1971 Duster Twister it is basically all original. I inherited it from my Grandfather, it sat for 10-15 years garaged and I just got it going again in March. She’s a work in progress on some things but I love it and love how it has kept its originality and shine for many years. It is a slant 6 car I am thinking of throwing a 360 in it for the fun of it. My grandpa always wanted it to be fast along with the family as well but just enjoying it and her good economicness of the 70s currently.

Very cool old pictures. It looks like Gramps was really proud of the car. But before you start chopping it up, read other young peoples threads first and see if that's the direction you want to take with the car, especially as original as it is. Personally, I'm all about originality, and your car would clobber it at car shows due to it's originality and nice condition, but do whatever you think makes you happy...

I wonder what car that is tucked away in the garage behind Grandpa...do you know?

Thank ya, he was really proud of it so I’m having a hard time making a decision with that. I’ve been leaning towards just leaving it alone and putting some bigger tires on it and maybe pulling the slant 6 and getting fresh seals and paint.

Welcome to FABO!!

I love that you're driving grandpa's car. I would make sure the tires are good to go and drive that car every single day!!

Drive it for a year before deciding to engine swap it.

Tires are in good shape just have some flat spots so not driving it everyday trying to be extra careful till I can afford some new ones, hoping to get some new ones and take it to Reno for hot August nights.

Sounds like a great plan!! Many years ago I was in Reno for Hot August Nights. Didn't have my car then but enjoyed looking at all the cars there!!
